Research On The Impact Of Producer Service Development And Manufacturing Servitization On Manufacturing Upgrading

After the global financial crisis,more and more countries have realized that the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is the key to enhance competitiveness,and the quality of the manufacturing industry determines the level of a country’s economic strength.However,the upgrading of manufacturing industry is a complex path and process,which has to go through a complex development process from the formation and development of producer services,to the promotion of manufacturing services,and finally to promote the upgrading of manufacturing industry.The exploration and research of the upgrading and development process of the manufacturing industry and the search for the path to promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry will help accelerate the pace of the upgrading of the manufacturing industry.In this context,this study focuses on the relationship between the development of producer service industry,the servitization of manufacturing industry and the upgrading of manufacturing industry,and further studies the path of the upgrading of manufacturing industry on this basis,which has important practical significance.This paper mainly studies the following questions:What is the relationship between the development of producer services,the servitization of manufacturing,and the upgrading of manufacturing?How to consider the impact of the development of producer service industry on the upgrading of manufacturing industry from a dynamic perspective?What causes the non-linear impact of manufacturing servitization on manufacturing upgrading?In addition to formulating an evaluation index system,is there a more accurate quantitative method to measure the upgrading of manufacturing industry?To solve the above research problems,this study uses the World InputOutput Database(WIOD)and the World Bank as the main data sources,and 14 years of data from 42 countries as research samples.It introduces research methods such as mediation model,adjustment model,threshold model and dynamic panel regression model.This paper empirically tests the relationship between the development of producer service industry,the servitization of manufacturing industry and the upgrading of manufacturing industry,and systematically carries out the following researches:This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of the development of producer service industry on the upgrading of manufacturing industry.It is found that manufacturing servitization and innovation ability play a mediating role in the impact of producer service development on manufacturing upgrading,and it is found that urbanization level and innovation ability play a moderating role in the impact of producer service development on manufacturing upgrading.This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of manufacturing servitization on manufacturing upgrading.It is found that under the constraints of the threshold variables for the development of producer services,the servitization of manufacturing has a nonlinear impact on the upgrading of manufacturing.Investigate the dynamic impact of the development of producer service industry on the upgrading of manufacturing industry.A dynamic panel regression model is constructed to test the impact of the development of producer services on manufacturing upgrading,and the results show that there is a hysteresis effect,and the development of producer services at different technical levels has heterogeneity in the impact of manufacturing upgrading.The main innovations of this study include the following aspects:Through theoretical analysis and empirical testing,it is found that the servitization of manufacturing industry is an intermediary variable between the development of producer service industry and the upgrading of manufacturing industry,and the development of producer service industry is the threshold variable of servitization of manufacturing industry and the upgrading of manufacturing industry,and expand the relationship between the three,extending the influence mechanism of the development of the producer service industry to promote the upgrading of the manufacturing industry and the influence mechanism of the servitization of the manufacturing industry to promote the upgrading of the manufacturing industry,which enriches the theory of industrial upgrading.In terms of empirical research,this study uses 15-year panel data from 42 countries,builds a dynamic panel regression model for testing,and finds that there is a lagging effect on the impact of the development of producer services on the upgrading of manufacturing industries.The dynamic impact of industrial upgrading is heterogeneous,which makes up for the shortcomings of previous studies that mainly analyze from a static perspective.In this paper,the Stochastic Frontier Analysis(SFA)method is used to measure the efficiency of the manufacturing industry,and the random disturbance items are stripped off,so that the empirical results are more in line with the reality.
