Since the 19 th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized on different occasions to support the development of private enterprises,enhance the vitality of micro-subjects,and strengthen the initiative of enterprises and entrepreneurs.Entrepreneurs are an important main body to promote the development of private enterprises.The continuous advancement of the high-quality development of entrepreneurship,has greatly stimulated the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovative genes,inspired a large number of entrepreneurs’ entrepreneurial passion,entrepreneurial activities have flourished on China.However,with the advent of a period of major changes and adjustments in the international situation,accompanied by the global COVID-19 pandemic,the world is experiencing profound shifts unseen in a century.The highly uncertain environment has caused entrepreneurs to face the difficulties of survival and development of enterprises.How to strengthen entrepreneurs’ confidence in entrepreneurship,stimulate entrepreneurs’ resilience and potential,realize the leap from entrepreneurial passion to entrepreneurial persistence,improve the survival and development capabilities of venture firms,promote the high-quality development of entrepreneurship has become an important direction in entrepreneurial research and practice under the new era.The current research on entrepreneurship focuses on entrepreneurial intention,entrepreneurial opportunities detection in the early stage of entrepreneurship and the results after establishing venture firms,such as entrepreneurial performance.Few studies have focused on entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage of venture firms.Entrepreneurship persistence enables entrepreneurs to stick to their goals in the face of adversity and continue to carry out proactive entrepreneurial behaviors,which is conducive to the survival and development of venture firms and improves the chances of entrepreneurial success.Entrepreneurship persistence plays an essential role in the entire process of entrepreneurship.However,there is a big difference between entrepreneurial persistence in the initial stage and in the development stage of venture firms.The entrepreneurial persistence in the early stage of entrepreneurship is a continuous persistence process to start a business,the goal orientation and decision-making logic are more clear.The high-risk and high-uncertainty characteristics of entrepreneurial activities in the development stage make entrepreneurial persistence involve a more complex goal adjustment process and a series of persistence decision-making.This phenomenon causes the entrepreneurial persistence at the stage of enterprise development to be different from the single-dimensional entrepreneurial persistence centered on "resisting the urge to give up." While emphasizing the continuity of entrepreneurship,it gives entrepreneurial persistence dynamic characteristics at the same time.The phenomenon of continuous entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial failure repair also proves that entrepreneurial persistence not only refers to the continuous process of behavior but also includes the dynamic continuous process of cognition.The structure and measurement of entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage of venture firms need to be optimized.Secondly,with the development of venture firms,the role of entrepreneurial teams has become more and more important.The existing research on entrepreneurial team level mainly focuses on the impact of entrepreneurs on entrepreneurial teams in the early stage of entrepreneurship and the impact of entrepreneurial team factors on team performance.The influence mechanism of entrepreneurial teams on entrepreneurs at the development stage is still unclear.What is the entrepreneurial persistence structure of entrepreneurs in the development stage of venture firms,how to measure it? How can entrepreneurial passion be transformed into entrepreneurial persistence? What effect do the cognitive and emotional factors of entrepreneurial teams have on entrepreneurial persistence?”Based on self-regulation theory,social cognition theory,and emotional contagion theory,this research attempts to answer the above three questions through three sub-studies,and the main conclusions are as follows:1.Entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage of venture firms includes two dimensions.Based on the grounded theoretical analysis of multiple cases,this study proposes that entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage of venture firms includes two dimensions: entrepreneurial cognition persistence and entrepreneurial behavior persistence.Then,based on the standard questionnaire development process,a scale for measuring entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage was developed,including 14 items.Among them,entrepreneurial cognition persistence includes 7 items,and entrepreneurial behavior persistence includes 7 items.Finally,based on goal adjustment theory,information processing theory,and related research on goal pursuit,the structure division of entrepreneurship persistence is discussed,which further enriches the theoretical perspective of entrepreneurship persistence research.2.Entrepreneurial passion plays an internal driving role in entrepreneurial persistence through the dual path of cognition and emotion.According to the self-regulation theory,a theoretical model of the influence mechanism of entrepreneurial passion on entrepreneurial persistence with entrepreneurial self-efficacy and work vitality as the mediating variable and emotional intelligence as the moderating variable is constructed.Analyzed the individual would realize the transformation of entrepreneurial passion to entrepreneurial persistence through the process of cognitive strengthening and emotional activation.Furthermore,this study selected422 entrepreneurs from 20 entrepreneurial incubation platforms in Beijing and Shanxi Province as the survey subjects and conducted empirical research through questionnaire surveys.Both theoretical models and empirical analysis results show that entrepreneurial passion can improve entrepreneurial persistence through entrepreneurial self-efficacy and work vitality,emotional intelligence plays an important role in moderating the positive effects of entrepreneurial passion.This research also constructs a moderation mediated model in the effect of entrepreneurial passion on entrepreneurial persistence.3.The team entrepreneurial passion has a cross-level supportive effect on entrepreneurial persistence.Based on the theory of social cognition and emotional contagion,the research perspective is extended from the entrepreneurial self-level to the entrepreneurial team level.Constructed a cross-level mechanism theory model of the team entrepreneurial passion on entrepreneurial persistence,with entrepreneurial team effectiveness and entrepreneurial team vitality as the mediating variables,and team emotional intelligence as the moderating variable.Furthermore,this study selected 73 entrepreneurial teams,73 entrepreneurs and 332 entrepreneurial team members from Beijing and Shanxi Province as the research subjects,and obtained data through questionnaire surveys for empirical testing.Both theoretical models and empirical analysis results show that team entrepreneurial passion will significantly affect entrepreneurial persistence through entrepreneurial team effectiveness and entrepreneurial team vitality,and team emotional intelligence plays an important role in moderating.This research also constructs a cross-level moderating mediated model of team entrepreneurial passion and entrepreneurial persistence.The innovations of this research are as follows:(a)Constructed the structure of entrepreneurial persistence in the development stage of venture firms,and developed the corresponding measurement scale.Dividing entrepreneurship persistence into two dimensions,on the one hand,enhances the interpretation of entrepreneurship persistence in the enterprise development stage and characterizes its dynamic characteristics,on the other hand,it also enriches the theoretical perspective of entrepreneurship persistence research.(b)From the dual path of cognition and emotion,established the mechanism of transforming entrepreneurial passion into entrepreneurial persistence.The dual path of cognition and emotion,reveals the mechanism of entrepreneurial passion on entrepreneurial persistence more comprehensively,explains the positive effect of developing entrepreneurial passion and emphasizes the key moderation role of emotional intelligence in the research of entrepreneurial passion.(c)The research perspective is extended to the entrepreneurial team level,revealing the supportive role of team entrepreneurial passion for entrepreneurs’ entrepreneurial persistence during the development stage of the enterprise on the top-down path.In the development stage of venture firms,the back-feeding support effect of shared emotion and collective cognitive factors at the entrepreneurial team level on entrepreneurial persistence enriched research in the field of entrepreneurial teams.
