Transformation And Upgrading Of Industrial Structure Under Foreign Openness

The essence of economic growth is the process of industrial structure transformation and upgrading.According to existing studies,the industrial structure transformation and upgrading of a country is mainly comes from internal and external factors.The internal influencing factors can be summarized as Baumol effect,engel effect and capital deepening effect.External influencing factors are mainly the influence of trade,investment and other activities among different economies on the transformation and upgrading of a country’s industrial structure in the open environment.Since the reform and opening up,the rapid industrialization development has promoted the rapid economic growth of China in the past decades under the background of the continuous opening-up.However,under the influence of the deteriorating external environment of global trade environment,the lack of innovation ability and the low efficiency of production factor allocation and other internal environment,how to promote the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure is crucial to China’s future economic growth.In order to systematically analyze the impact of opening-up on the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure,the overall research arrangement of this paper is as follows:The second chapter is the theoretical foundation and literature review,first gave the definition of related,and then from the dual economic structure theory,trade theory for carding,finally from the mechanism of the influence of the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure and the influence of opening to the outside world to the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure of the paper summarizes the existing research.The third chapter firstly summarizes the opening process of the countries in the world and analyzes the characteristics of the opening up and industrial structure transformation of the economies in different income stages during different development stages.The fourth chapter analyzes the dynamic mechanism of industrial structure transformation and upgrading theoretically by constructing the general equilibrium model of three sectors in the two countries,and verifies the conclusion of the theoretical model with the help of the intermediary effect model and the transnational panel data.The fifth chapter is a review of China’s opening up and industrial transformation and upgrading,and on this basis from different open models,intensity and strategy aspects of China’s industrial structure transformation and upgrading of the econometric analysis.The sixth chapter starts from the theory of industry life cycle,through the "One Belt And One Road" initiative natural experiment,using the panel data of listed companies,through the psm-did model to study and analyze the development and change trend of China’s industrial structure transformation and upgrading under the background of increasing the opening to the outside world.The seventh chapter is to summarize the conclusion of the whole paper,and on this basis put forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions.Through theoretical and empirical analysis,the main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)During the period from 1970 to 2018,most of the economies in the world have been opening up to the outside world to a greater extent,but there are certain differences in the process of opening up and industrial structure transformation and upgrading of economies in different income stages.After the developed economies and emerging developed economies enter the middle and high income stage,their opening to the outside world will be further enhanced,and their industrial upgrading degree will show a significant increase,but this phenomenon does not exist in the middle income economies.(2)the results of the theoretical model show that,for a closed economy,the factors that promote the transformation and upgrading of a country’s industrial structure can be decomposed into baumol effect,engel effect and capital deepening effect.However,under the open environment,opening to the outside world can also promote the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure.Based on the empirical analysis of transnational panel data,the structure shows that opening to the outside world can not only directly promote the transformation and upgrading of a country’s industrial structure,but also promote the transformation and upgrading of a country’s industrial structure through baumol effect,engel effect and capital deepening effect.(3)the opening to the outside world to the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure in our country has a more active role,in the past in the process of opening to the outside world,opening to the outside world significantly promoted the three industrial structure transformation,but the opening to the outside world does not form a Labour productivity,promote the upgrading of industrial structure way but in areas of cheap Labour and land form the low-cost industrial scale expansion.Furthermore,from the perspective of the specific opening process,export trade promotes the level of servitization of industrial structure less than import trade,meanwhile,export trade has less impact on the development of industrial structure.From the perspective of the intensity of opening,the promotion of industrial structure upgrading by the high-level group of opening to the outside world is greater than that by the low-level group of opening to the outside world.With the implementation of "One Belt And One Road"policy,China’s industrial structure has been significantly improved in the development of open economy,especially the trend of industrial servitization and industrial advanced development.(4)the theory of industrial life cycle shows that in an open environment,enterprises with different life cycles can improve their resource allocation through two models of "pro-gradient" and "anti-gradient",so as to promote the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.Similarly,the empirical structure shows that under the implementation of the "One Belt And One Road" initiative policy,further opening up can help improve the mismatch index of production factors of enterprises and promote the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure by improving the innovation ability of enterprises.In addition,compared with the existing research,this article’s main innovation points:(1)during 1960-2018 in different stages of development by the typical economies,respectively in different stages of development period to its opening to the outside world,the three industrial structure and industrial structure of high-grade change trend summary analysis,its conclusion in detail.(2)the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure is measured from multiple dimensions such as the upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure,total factor productivity and resource mismatch index,which provides more references for the subsequent research on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.(3)from the transnational level,to the provincial level in China,and finally from the level of micro enterprises to analyze the impact of opening to the outside world on the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure,not only enriched the relevant research to a certain extent,but also the research conclusions are more reliable.
