The widespread popularity of social media and digital communication has driven the globalization of information dissemination and the digitization of social relationships.People share their lives and obtain news information through social media platforms, while maintaining contact conveniently and exchanging information with others through various digital communication tools. This trend has changed the way individuals interact with society and has had a profound impact on various fields of society. At the same time,it has also pushed online public opinion to an unprecedented level of attention.Online public opinion has become a reflection of public opinion, accommodating diverse social voices. Its extensive social circle also promotes the dissemination and sharing of information. This helps to expose some social issues, supervise government and corporate behavior, and promote the resolution of some social issues. However, the proliferation of online public opinion information and people’s misunderstanding of fragmented information have also led to the widespread dissemination of false information and even rumors, posing a threat to social stability.Online violence may also lead to privacy issues and cause physical and mental harm to individuals. Therefore, perceiving and guiding online public opinion has become an urgent need for current social governance and information management. The emergence of online public opinion is closely related to the psychological factors of netizens. The social public opinion environment and individual cognition and emotions created by the surrounding groups will affect the acceptance and dissemination of public opinion information by netizens. The dissemination behavior of online public opinion users is the interactive behavior of public opinion information that uses online platforms and tools to promote the development of public opinion through publishing, discussing, and forwarding.Communication behavior is the behavior made by decision-makers through thinking. It reflects the attitudes, cognition, and emotions of individual netizens towards a certain public opinion event, and is a behavioral expression of psychological distance in the process of online public opinion dissemination. From the perspective of social psychology, psychological distance refers to the subjective feeling of closeness, acceptance,or difficulty in getting along with another individual or group. It can be used to measure an individual’s perception and evaluation of psychological distance towards a certain object, event,or situation.Scholars in mass communication define psychological distance as the degree of difference in attitude, cognition, and emotion between mass communicators and audiences. This distance is a psychological distance, not a physical distance.Physical distance can be seen and touched, but psychological distance can only be felt with the heart. To address this issue, this study utilized the behavioral expression of communication behavior as a psychological distance.Using explicit behavior data to perceive psychological distance can quantify psychological distance effectively and understand the trend of online public opinion evolution further. This study combines theory with practice.Based on relevant communication behaviors, this article conducts a deep level research on the perceived intensity of psychological distance among netizens during the process of online public opinion dissemination. This will focus on improving the monitoring and identification system of online public opinion, identifying the evolution and development trend of public opinion dynamically, and providing effective reference for government public opinion control departments. This will provide targeted positive guidance and control of public opinion, promoting a new and positive online atmosphere while creating a clear online space. This study follows the research logic of "analyzing first and then constructing, from local to comprehensive" for in-depth exploration. The main work done in this study is as follows.(1)It analyzes relevant concepts and theoretical foundations. It mainly discusses the connotation, composition, and evolution of online public opinion, analyzes the connotation of psychological distance and dissemination intention. It analyzes three psychological theories: social conformity, cognitive game, and emotional resonance, laying the theoretical foundation for the precipitation of three psychological distance parameters: spatiotemporal fluctuation, semantic correlation, and emotional identification. These are the theoretical foundations of this study and provide theoretical support for measuring the psychological distance of netizens when disseminating online public opinion.(2)It analyzes the psychological distance of online public opinion dissemination behavior and identifies three important parameters.By combining questionnaire surveys and case analysis, the effectiveness of psychological distance has been demonstrated. From the perspective of psychological distance, this research constructs the formation mechanism of online public opinion dissemination behavior, and selects three perceptual parameters: spatiotemporal fluctuation, semantic correlation, emotional identification, and proposes corresponding analytical principles.(3)It constructs the spatiotemporal fluctuation parameter of psychological distance.A detailed analysis is conducted on the fluctuation of time and space, and practical application is carried out in the online public opinion incident of "Employees of a certain company criticize overtime in pain".Firstly,a Fluc mathematical model for spatiotemporal fluctuations was established, which organically integrates time and geographic information. It combines the incremental behavior of online public opinion dissemination to form a three-dimensional space, and through step correction of the cooling coefficient, forms the final spatiotemporal surface of the spatiotemporal fluctuation degree.Secondly, under the guidance of the above mathematical model, the spatiotemporal fluctuations and development of public opinion events are divided into7 stages by integrating time and geographic information. These seven stages are respectively the germination period, local outbreak period, comprehensive outbreak period, stable period, comprehensive dissipation period, local dissipation period, and end period.Thirdly,a Fluc-XGBoost econometric model is constructed to facilitate subsequent prediction of spatiotemporal fluctuations. Finally, this research conducts practical operations on the mathematical model, stage distribution, and econometric model based on the online public opinion incident of "Employees of a certain company criticize overtime in pain".And it compares the functions of XGBoost,SVM,and LR machine learning models to verify the good performance of XGBoost.(4)It constructs semantic correlation parameters for psychological distance. It provides a detailed analysis of semantic relevance and has been applied in the online public opinion incident of "Employees of a certain company criticize overtime in pain".Firstly, this study conducts data processing,Word2 Vec word vector transformation on text data and K-means topic clustering. Then, the cosine similarity of the transformed word vectors is calculated to complete the processing of the text data.Secondly,it effectively extracts social correlation data, assigns values to social correlation relationships through traversal and comparison, and concatenates the assigned topic matrix to complete the processing of social correlation data.Thirdly,it constructs a Sem-XGBoost econometric model to facilitate subsequent analysis of semantic relevance. Finally,it combines online public opinion events to perform practical processing on the text data and social correlation data mentioned above, and conducts a 2 * 3 experimental comparison on whether to add social correlation data to three machine learning models: XGBoost,SVM,and LR,proving the effectiveness of introducing social correlation data and verifying the good performance of the XGBoost model.(5)It constructs emotional identification parameters for psychological distance. It provides a detailed analysis of emotional identity and practices it in conjunction with the online public opinion incident.Firstly,it extracts the text content and source reputation data of the crawled online public opinion events of "Employees of a certain company criticize overtime in pain".After cleaning the text content,it conducts sentiment analysis using the SKEP model and classifies the analysis results into five categories.Secondly,it performs data processing on the reputation of the source, dividing it into its own reputation and cumulative reputation, and integrating them with the concept of influence radius reasonably.Thirdly,it comprehensively analyzes the above results using the Emo-XGBoost model and conducts a 4 * 3 experimental comparison of XGBoost,SVM,and LR machine learning models with or without adding source prestige data, proving the good performance of the model used in this research and obtaining the final result of emotional identification.(6)It measures the intensity of psychological distance perception. It provides an in-depth analysis of the perceived intensity of psychological distance, and conducts practical verification by combining it with the online public opinion event of "Employees of a certain company criticize overtime in pain".Firstly, the three sub parameters of spatiotemporal fluctuation, semantic correlation, and emotional identification are graded and assigned, and their sum is added to construct the total perceived intensity of psychological distance.Based on this,a complete mathematical model of psychological distance perception intensity is constructed after mapping and forming perception intensity classification.Secondly, apply the WPD-XGBoost model to conduct practical analysis on the above model.By comparing the experimental results of three machine learning models,XGBoost,SVM,LR,the good performance of the model used in this research was verified. The experimental results fully demonstrate the reliability and practicality of the psychological distance perception intensity model, providing a solid foundation for a deeper understanding of the role of psychological distance in online public opinion.(7)It proposes guidance and control strategies for online public opinion dissemination behavior based on the perceived strength of psychological distance. It analyzes the connotation, characteristics, goals, and principles of guiding the dissemination of online public opinion, and designs corresponding public opinion governance strategies based on the measurement and classification of psychological distance perception intensity parameters in Chapter 7.Public opinion with psychological distance perception intensity of red and orange levels is more urgent, and corresponding guidance strategies with urgency and effectiveness have been designed. The public opinion with a psychological distance perception intensity of yellow and blue levels is relatively soothing, and it has designed a relatively mild and long-term guidance strategy accordingly. The goal of this design is to quickly respond during crisis periods and reduce public opinion risks. And during a stable period,we will strengthen the foundation of public opinion prevention and control, and enhance public opinion literacy. The dynamic perception research on the psychological distance of online public opinion dissemination behavior is a fundamental analysis of the formation of online public opinion from a psychological perspective.Guiding and controlling online public opinion Communication Behavior is a necessary means to alleviate or solve public opinion crises. This research expands the research perspective on online public opinion at the theoretical level. It can provide clear data on the evolution and development of public opinion for the government’s public opinion supervision department in practice. The combination of multiple disciplines also provides new ideas and methods for subsequent research.
