Research On The Core Quality Of College Counselors

Ideological and political work is the party’s fine tradition,distinctive characteristics and prominent political advantages.It is the lifeline of all work.Strengthening and improving ideological and political work is related to the future and destiny of the party,the long-term stability of the country,and national cohesion and centripetal force.Counselors are the backbone of College Students’ Ideological and political education.Improving the core quality of counselors and deeply promoting the professional construction of counselors are of great strategic significance for promoting the high-quality development of College Students’ Ideological and political education and realizing the goal of educating people for the party and the country.At present,the overall quality of college counselors is high.They have high comprehensive quality.They play an important role in guiding college students to establish a correct world outlook,outlook on life and values,and cultivating new people of the times who are responsible for national rejuvenation.They have become the new force of Ideological and political education in Colleges and universities.The new era and new journey endow ideological and political education with a new mission and put forward higher requirements for counselors.In the new era,profound changes have taken place in the domestic and international environment,which not only poses new challenges to the ideological and political education in Colleges and universities,but also puts forward new goals for the talent training in Colleges and universities.In order to meet the new requirements of Ideological and political education in the new era,college counselors must constantly strengthen the construction of professional ability and improve their core literacy.Therefore,improving the core quality of college counselors has become an urgent and significant work.This study is problem-oriented,takes the group of College Counselors in Shanghai as the research object,carries out in-depth research around the key proposition of counselor core literacy,and combines theory practice,practice theorization,theoretical interpretation and empirical research,so as to make the theoretical quality and fresh practice of this study complement each other,In order to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the professional capacity-building of counselors.This research mainly adopts the research methods of theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey.On the premise of combing the characteristics of national typical counselors,combining with the relevant national documents on college counselors and ideological and political education,and interviewing the authoritative theoretical experts and front-line backbone in the field of Ideological and political education,this research uses the methods of theoretical analysis and comparative research,The preliminary construction has formed the theoretical content such as the connotation and structure of the core literacy of college counselors.On this basis,based on the constituent elements of core literacy and closely combined with the internal and external conditions of the formation of core literacy,the questionnaire design and survey are carried out,and the main points of this study are as follows:Core quality is the stable,unique and excellent will quality and working ability of College Counselors in the process of carrying out student work.Its connotation includes solid value foundation,sustainable development concept and strong social responsibility.Therefore,the core literacy has three orientations,namely,political orientation,social orientation and individual orientation.In the research on the elements of core literacy,this paper analyzes the elements of core literacy from a static perspective.The study found that the core quality of counselors is mainly composed of political elements,ability elements and knowledge elements.The core quality of counselors is driven by value,ability,knowledge and multiple elements.We should take the initiative to change the constituent elements of the current core quality of college counselors.In the research on the formation process of core literacy,this paper analyzes the internal and external conditions and specific formation process of the formation of core literacy from a dynamic perspective.The internal conditions for the formation of core literacy include knowledge conditions,ideological conditions,ability conditions and emotional conditions;External conditions include educational conditions,policy conditions,environmental conditions and other conditions.On the premise of internal and external conditions,counselors can form core literacy through five stages: professional identity,need generation,educational guidance,internalization and improvement,and literacy formation.Through investigation and research,it is found that the overall performance of College Counselors’ core literacy is as follows: relatively comprehensive knowledge reserve,overall good ideological conditions,unbalanced ability conditions,defects in emotional conditions,great differences in educational conditions,lack of policy conditions and unbalanced environmental conditions.According to the data results and the analysis of the actual situation,it is found that the core quality of college counselors has three significant characteristics: political dominance,decisive ability and knowledge accumulation.Through further analysis of the data,it is found that the problems existing in the core literacy of college counselors mainly include: the application knowledge formed by the core literacy needs to be improved,the ideological quality formed by the core literacy needs to be strengthened,the ability level formed by the core literacy needs to be improved,the emotional foundation formed by the core literacy needs to be consolidated,and the educational conditions formed by the core literacy need to be optimized.Combined with data and reality analysis,it is found that the above problems of core literacy mainly have subjective and objective reasons.Subjectively,college counselors are despised in thought,ignored in study and ignored in behavior;Objectively,there are some factors that affect the generation of core literacy,such as unfavorable public opinion environment,inadequate policy implementation,defective access system,imperfect training system and so on.According to the survey results,combined with the requirements of the party and the state,this study puts forward the optimization and promotion strategies of College Counselors’ core literacy.That is,on the basis of improving the internal and external conditions for the formation of core literacy,optimize the constituent elements of core literacy,develop an effective mechanism for the operation of core literacy,and comprehensively optimize and improve the core literacy of college counselors.
