Research On The Trust Relationships Between College Counselors And The College Students

College or university counselors as the groups in close contact with the students,serve as an important force for the ideological and political education.College counselors help the students foster good moral qualities,guide them to a positive attitude towards life and establish a correct outlook on life and values to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education for college students based on exact understanding of ideological and political status.At the same time,the counselors are the organizer,implementer and instructor for the college students' daily management,and they shoulder the responsibilities of development and improvement of college students' mental health,fulfillment of the tasks for awarding and loans exemption for targeted students,and of the guidance for their career planning,the training for network ideological and political education and of handling campus crisis events.It is,therefore,crucial to establish a trust relationship between counselors and their students considered the fact that counselors would have much trivial and large amounts of work to do.The trust relationship between counselors and college students belongs to the interpersonal relationship.Apart from its vulnerability and risk,this interpersonal trust relationship bears the features of asymmetry,indirectness and distinctiveness.Indeed,it is important to build a trust relationship between counselors and college students.However,to achieve an ideal mutual trust model cannot be done just overnight.What needs to be done is take joint efforts among college students,counselors,families and schools in society.This paper points out that there is low trust between counselors and college students and that confidence crisis still exists based on study on the relevant literature and comprehensive analysis on the theory of different subjects such as sociology and psychology supported by the theory of ideological and political education.Besides,this paper aims to conduct an investigation on the trust relationship between undergraduate students and counselors and make analyses on the influence factors of the trust crisis between counselors and college students at macro,meso and micro level concerning the weakening of traditional culture,lack of integrity of the school culture,bad skills to communicate with others for the undergraduates and the conflict between counselors' roles-play and the students' expectations for the roles through empirical research among targeted groups(undergraduate students)in the areas designated(in Chongqing).In the end,this paper has put forward the path on the trust relationship between counselors and college students which enables them to walk out of the “wetland” of the crisis of confidence on the basis of the subject theory and the psychology in ideological and political education,and therefore,is to establish sound trust relationships and harmonious ones to further enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education for college students and build a harmonious campus.
