Ottorino Respighi(1879-1936),a prominent composers in post-opera era in Italy,gaind widespread international recognition for his complex,varied and colorful symphonic works,and broke the perception that Italian composers were only good at opera creation.However,under the dazzling aura of his symphonic works,few people have noticed Respighi’s contribution to the development of Italian art song.In recent years,more musicians have begun to perform and record Respighi’s art songs,but related research is still lagging behind.This paper takes Respighi’s sole song cycle Deità silvane as the research object,combined with my own performance practice,from literature research and work analysis,as well as the listening and analysis of the representative performance versions,elaborate on the artistic value of this work,explore the characteristics of the work in terms of poetic-musical structure,creative techniques,thereby revealing the key points and difficulties in the interpretation of the vocal performance of the work,and propose corresponding singing strategies.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter will introduce the composer Respighi’s life and the creation of art songs,and probe a rarely discussed topic—the development of Italian art songs,in order to clarify Respighi’s contribution the genre and the artistic value of his works.The second chapter will conduct a detailed analysis of the text structure,writing techniques and characteristics of Deità silvane.The analysis of the text structure involves the poetic text and the musical text of the work,and attempts to interpret the work.The connection between poetry and music structure helps performers establish a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the work,so as to feel the harmonious beauty of the combination of poetry and music.The third chapter will analyze the details of the singing process from the perspective of the performer,which will include the singing language and pronunciation,as well as the detailed singing points of each piece,and based on the actual requirements of the work,starting from the two major aspects of speed and emotion,we make an overall conception of the singing.This paper will focus on the above aspects to conduct an in-depth study of Deità silvane.It is hoped that this research can stimulate more scholars’ interest in Respighi art songs and Italian art songs,and broaden the performers’ repertoire choices.Promote research and reflection in this field and contribute to Chinese vocal singing and vocal music research. |
