| The Latin American Boom refers to the literary phenomenon in which a group of outstanding writers in Latin America published a number of high quality novels in a short period of time between 1962 and 1972,and gained worldwide attention and recognition;Chinese 80s generation writers in this article refers to a group of writers who were born in the 1950s and early 1960s and began their literary work around the 1980s.Given the similarities in their identities,the writers of the Latin American Boom and Chinese 80s generation writers also show some similarities in their writing of identity.This thesis takes the translation of the Latin American Boom in China as an entry point uses the Translation theory and Reception theory,with textual analysis and comparative research methods to conduct a parallel study of the Latin American Boom and Chinese 80s generation writers,and compares literary expressions of both sides in terms of cultural identity and identity.In the process,the impact of the Latin American Boom on the literary creation of Chinese 80s generation writers is presented and analyzed,while the similarities and differences in literary expression between the two sides are also explained and studied.The first chapter of the dissertation introduces and explains the Latin American Boom from an objective point of view,clarifying conceptual issues such as its definition,start and end dates,and representative authors,as well as interpreting the Latin American Boom from different dimensions such as politics,markets and ethnicity.The second chapter introduces the translation of the Latin American Boom in China in the 1980s,while exploring the reasons for the translation and reception of the Latin American Boom in China at that time,based on the historical and cultural context of the 1980s,and on this basis,analyzes the cultural dilemmas faced by the Chineses 80s generation writers,and explores the translation of the Latin American Boom in China and its significance for the Chineses 80s generation writers,who were in a state of cultural and identity anxiety.The third chapter begins with an explanation of the concept of "identity" and its positioning in this paper,followed by an analysis of the historical evolution of Latin American and Chinese national identities,and the literary and intellectual feedback from intellectuals of both peoples during this process.The focus of the fourth chapter is mainly on the influence of the Latin American Boom on the Chineses 80s generation writers in terms of their ideas and approaches to literary creation.The anxieties and reflections on identity that permeated the literary works of the Latin American Boom writers are,to varying degrees,projected in the works of the Chineses 80s generation writers.In the fifth chapter we discuss the differences between the literary expressions of the Latin American Boom and Chineses 80s generation writers in terms of some common literary motifs,as well as their choices of writing related to cultural context and writing themes.These differences are to a certain extent determined by the different historical and cultural backgrounds and the different situations of identity of the two nations.Based on this dissertation,it can be seen that both of the Latin American Boom writers and Chinese 80s generation writers face the problem of absence of cultural and national identity in their time,and this constitutes an important reason for the influence of the former on the latter.In terms of the results of literary creation:on the one hand,there are similarities between the writing of Chinese 80s generation writers and the Latin American Boom,as reflected in the choice of ideas and literary resources,as well as in the specific narrative techniques used;on the other hand,there are also differences in the choice of literary themes and the expression of similar literary motifs.The similarities are due to their similar historical and cultural backgrounds and the cultural contexts of the time,while the differences are due to the fact that the issues of cultural and national identity are fundamentally different.Latin American identity issues are inherent and ongoing,while Chinese cultural and identity issues are acquired and temporary,so Chinese literature ultimately relies on its own national culture and civilization as sustenance for continuous improvement.The main innovation of this work is the chronological approach to the evolution of national identity in Latin America and in our country,which provides a complete picture of the Latin American national identity and serves the analysis of literature;the understanding of the world through literature,starting from the Latin America Boom,gets a further understanding of the Latin American nation,its culture and even the Latin American world.In addition,it explores the hidden discourses of writers behind their literary works,demonstrating the sociological and anthropological significance of literature and offering more possibilities for the interdisciplinary interpretation of the works of classic authors.Another innovation of this article is the combination of comparative literary influence studies and parallel studies,taking the influence of the Latin American Boom on Chinese 80s generation writers as an entry point,which is based on the similar needs of literary creators from both regions to explore their own cultural roots.The deeper reason for this need is that both peoples were facing the same problem of cultural and national identity deficit at the time,which has led to the discovery of the differences between the cultures and national identities of the two sides and their impact on the literary work of the writers. |
