Comment On The BOOM In Spanish American Literature

During the development of literature history of Latin American literature, the decade BOOM in Spanish American Literature reached its culmination and realized unprecedented literature prosperity. Its literature achievement caught and surmounted western literature. Many world-known writers, literature schools and good novels have emerged. Especially the four skipper, Julio Cortazar, Gabriela Garcia Marquez, Mario Vargas Liosa and Carol Fuentes, sticked out, But this special period-literature BOOM hasn't been attended and lacked of carefully study, and even simply confused with Magical Realism school of Latin America by some critics.The thesis consists of three parts. The first part reviews and evaluates the period which the novels of Latin America developed from low regression to the return of realistic home, and finally realized vanguard BOOM. It excavated the prosperous historical certainty of the literature BOOM of Latin America and pointed out that though the novels of Latin America of early stage developed slowly because of the influence by native and European literature, But the novel writers of Latin America who have strong national conscious and responsible sense have found realistic home of regression when they attempt to save and build the area of Latin America, and have started the regional novels that have bright regional features of Latin America. And another vanguard novel writers of Latin America combine the expression skills and the artistic form of western literature with native reality of Latin America, Under the inevitable tendency of national liberation and independence, the novel writers united together and use the rich literature attainment of self together with the multivariate creative skills of the new novels of Latin America to bring up the splendid times of literature BOOM.The second part studies the literature BOOM under the world vision, it points out that the creation of modern writers of Latin America learns from or refers to western excellent traditional literature and writer works. They move towards world from Latin America, and walk back from world to Latin America, they get international achievement when studying and referring to western excellent traditional literature and writer works, and combine the reality of Latin American. Secondly the circle of world readers has formed and enlarged to promote the influence and position of literature BOOM.The third part shows the splendid achievement of literature BOOM through the analysis and evaluation of the writers and their works such as Julio Cortazar, Gabriela Garcia Marquez, Mario Vargas Liosa and Carol Fuentes.This thesis studies literature BOOM fully and corrects the idea that literature BOOM is the same as Magical Realism of Latin America in the epilogue. It also concludes that the works and writers of literature BOOM of Latin America has profound influence to the change of contemporary and modern literature.
