design,semiotics,iconography and communication.The three dimensions that constitute the visual image symbol interface: "technology","form" and "idea" are taken as the research context.Obtained the first-hand information of a large number of contemporary art and design museums and practical works in Europe,America and China through field investigation and research;Based on qualitative research,combined with quantitative analysis,this paper studies the characteristics of technical expression and formal expression of 317 image works in the Whitney Biennial from 2010 to 2019.The conceptual metaphor and design expression of typical images in contemporary art are analyzed with the method of image analysis and case study.It tries to explore the logical relationship between contemporary art image and design expression,and then find the theoretical basis and practical model for the expression of contemporary art image and design in contemporary life.In terms of technical expression,the design and expression of contemporary art images draw inspiration from cutting-edge science such as biology,environment and gene,and pay attention to experiment,art and integrated
