| Auditory narrative theory aims to reverse the situation of emphasizing vision and neglecting hearing under the influence of visual centralism,and guide us to pay attention to the sound phenomenon in narrative works.The uncertainty,imagination and pure artistry of sound are consistent with the overall pursuit of novel creation in the new era.This paper takes the auditory narration in the novels of the new period as the research object,explores the characteristics of sound in the novels of the new period,and clarifies the unique function of sound in the characterization,plot construction and theme presentation of the novels of the new period,in order to understand the aesthetic value and literary significance of the literature of the new period from a new theoretical perspective.Specific chapters are as follows:The first chapter is the theoretical interpretation of auditory narration.It mainly analyzes how sound plays a function in the novel through three existing forms:soundscape,character voice and narrative voice.Because of its uncertainty,sound has become an important means to set suspense,trigger imagination and create an atmosphere.The perceived difficulty brought by this uncertainty,just like the technique of "Defamiliarization",forms an effect of highlighting the feeling itself,which strengthens the literariness of the works.The characteristics of sound are in line with the value pursuit of novels in the new period.The second chapter still discusses the role of sound in shaping characters from three aspects: soundscape,character voice and narrative voice.The sound scene and the voice of the characters have a direct influence on the shaping of the characters’ character and the supplement of the characters’ emotion.On the one hand,the connection between the voice of the characters and the characters establishes a "motivational" connection,which makes it a sound symbol that can represent the characters’ image.On the other hand,what the characters can hear and can’t hear is also closely related to their character and emotion,which has become an important means to show people’s character and even affect the style of the novel.In addition,the narrative voice at the discourse level also affects the choice of character types at the story level.The third chapter mainly discusses the role of sound in plot arrangement.The theoretical consciousness since the new era has shifted the focus of novel creation from the content of the story to "how to tell the story".As a temporal existence,sound is bound to have an impact on the progress of the story.On the one hand,the sound at the story level directly affects the plot,which will disrupt the order of the plot and cause interspersed,delayed or stagnant effects;On the other hand,as the voice of the story presenter,the voice at the discourse level itself is the embodiment of the plot arrangement.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the role of auditory narration in the theme expression of novels in the new era.By combing the voice subject in the novels in the new era and the relationship between the voice and the theme of the novel,this paper expounds the role of voice and hearing in the expression of humanitarian theme,feminist theme and realistic theme,so as to deepen the understanding,and explore the ideological attribute of voice and hearing.The fifth chapter tells about the functions of sound in the novels of the new period,analyzes the different ideographic abilities of sound in the works due to different media,and then analyzes the political,aesthetic and consumer functions of sound from a macro perspective,revealing the role of sound in the value evolution of novels in the new period. |
