A Research On The Narrative Function Of "Sound"

The entry of "auditory parameters" into the field of narratology is a sign of the shift from the dominant visual culture to the balanced development of "audio-visual balance" in the sensory culture,aiming to cure the chronic "hearing-loss" in the process of literary reading.Eileen chang’s novels are well known for their sensory descriptions,which are full of a large number of sound landscapes.Entering the text in the way of "listening corner" is a close reading of the text through the way of "defamiliarization" in order to obtain the perception of new reading.From the perspective of auditory narration,this paper examines the "audibility" of the text through the various sound phenomena in the novel,in order to provide a new light for the close reading of the text.This paper will be discussed from four parts:The introduction explains the origin of the topic,writing significance,existing research results and research methods of this paper.The first chapter of the text focuses on the "soundscape" in the auditory narration,analyzes the "soundscape" in the auditory narration through the combination and decoding of sounds,and explores the expression forms of "soundscape" in Eileen chang’s novels.The second chapter mainly studies the text construction mode in Eileen chang’s novels from the perspective of auditory narration,and sorts out the sound phenomenon in Eileen chang’s works from three aspects: the "shape" structure of the voice narration and the novel,the plot narration of the voice narration and the novel,and the dialogue between the characters in the novel--as a kind of "audible voice".The third chapter focuses on how Eileen chang uses the pen of sound to construct the space-time aesthetics of her novels from the perspective of auditory narration.From the perspective of auditory sense,how Eileen chang constructs space with sound is also discussed.It is a new narrative way to construct the aesthetics of time and space in novels.Epilogue part from her novels to sound in all kinds of writing of the auditory put forward a kind of narrative theories,to explore auditory perception in the text,as a kind of narrative in a large number of derivative is related with the writers own gender,as well as in the atmosphere of popular culture in the form of auditory into the meaning of the text reading experience on readers,interpretation under the cultural background of "postmodernism" the importance of auditory perception.
