Research On Chonqqing Literary Periodicals During The Anti-Japanese War

During the Anti-Japanese War,Chongqing was not only the political,economic and cultural center of China,but also the important battlefield on the eastern front of the World Anti-Fascist War.With the westward migration of Chinese culture,Chongqing became the center of national cultural publishing and home front literature.Chongqing Literature periodicals were an important medium of cultural communication during the war and had an important place in the history of publishing,literature and culture.The publishing field of Chongqing literature periodicals during the war was complicated and diversified because of the many ideologies,which had different characteristics from those of the liberated area and the occupied area.From the perspective of media,this paper makes a comprehensive and objective investigation on the production and communication of Chongqing literary periodicals in wartime.On the basis of historical data this paper will do research on the media ecological environment,development history,the subject,content,mode and effect of communication.Opportunities and difficulties coexisted during the war.The determined status of second capital,the improved urban population type structure,the development of the printing industry and the perfection of the postal system laid a good media foundation for the prosperity of Chongqing literary periodicals.The existence of the paper shortage and bombing resulted in printing difficulties.Literary journal production is closely related to literary policy and concept.With the characteristic of communication delay,easy to carry,literary journals have certain media advantage in literature dissemination.Periodical,newspaper,book,radio and other media interacted with each other in the topic setting and advertising.The development of Chongqing literary periodicals in wartime can be divided into the pioneering period(1931-1937),the multiplex symbiosis period(1938-1940)and the game period(1941-1945).Chongqing literary journals approached unprecedented prosperity.At the same time of the surge in the number of literary journals,the number of closed journals has been rising.During the war,the development of periodicals in Chongqing showed the characteristics of the concentration and diffusion of publishing space and the diversification of publishing subject.The audiences diffused from the intellectual class to the public.Publishing content is closely related to society.The editors,authors,publishers and printers were all important disseminators of Chongqing literature periodicals during the war.The subject of periodical communication has profound cultural deposits and the characteristics of multiple cultural identities.The periodical communication subject have multi-cultural identity.The strong desire for participating the war and the mentality of staying as a guest coxisted.The different identity,experience and personality of communicators shaped different cultural identity and periodical styles.In wartime,Chongqing literature periodicals constructed a common nation-state imagination to achieve the intention of resisting Japan and defending the motherland,elaborated literature and social enlightenment thought by producing knowledge and promoted communication by publishing cultural information.The literary periodicals also expressed the individual life experience and traumatic memory in the war.In wartime,Chongqing literature periodicals were promoted and propagated with various media forms.Interpersonal communication,book advertising,bookstore sales and administrative promotion were the common media for periodical promotion.In the same time,it has the special transmission mode,such as aerial fixed casting.There is an interactive relation between literary periodicals and urban literature.The wartime Chongqing literature periodical had an influence on the construction of Chongqing city image,the storage of city memory and the integration of city culture.At the same time,literary periodicals promoted the dissemination of literary concept,participated in the construction of literary classics and cultivated literary readers.They also had a profound influence on the construction of the national Anti-Japanese War consciousness and the preservation of historical sites of Anti-Japanese War Culture.
