| Modern Shanghai Concession has changed dramatically in the fields of artifact civilization,social system and subjective consciousness compared with traditional Chinese society.These changes were bound to have a direct impact on the development of culture and art.What the author cares about is that how this change of social structure affected drama,and what inspiration could it give to the contemporary drama under market economic system.The situation of Shanghai during isolated-island period is a continuation of the prosperity of the entire Shanghai market.The performance groups of Shanghai during isolated-island period are the object of this article.It is a concept combining business and art-it is the subject of competition in drama market and the creative subject of drama.In fact,in isolated-island of Shanghai,the major performance groups were the key factors of the development of drama.According to this,this paper selected several influential performance groups of drama and Peking opera fields as specific objects of study,including:Lvbao Theater,Shanghai Theater Art Club,Golden Theater,Gengxin Stage,Tianchan Stage,Grand Stage,Gong Stage,Yifeng Club.The research of this paper not only summarized the specific activities of the performance groups above,but also summarized the theoretical aspects of thinking.Observation of each performance groups is around a core topic.Specifically including:At the end of 1937,several large Peking Opera theaters in the isolated-island were resumed.Including Golden Theater,Gengxin theatre,which specialized in inviting famous actors of Beijing school,and Grand Stage,Gong stage,which specialized in performing new plays of Shanghai school.It also included Carlton Theatre,Tianchan Stage,which balanced Beijing school and Shanghai school.This paper introduced the performances of several large Peking Opera theaters,and explained the phenomenon of confrontation between Beijing school Peking opera and Shanghai school Peking opera in Shanghai.It also explored the influence of market mechanism on the development of Peking opera art,and summed up the Shanghai school Peking opera ontology.Yifeng Club was a Peking Opera Combo found by Qi school founder Zhou Xinfang.After the outbreak of the war in 1937,.Zhou Xinfang returned to Shanghai,and led the reorganized Yifeng Club performed in the Carleton Grand Theater.The basic research on Yifeng Club and Zhou Xinfang is weak,and the view is confined to the nature of its patriotic propaganda,ignoring the principal status in market of Yifeng Club and the role of a Peking opera reformer of Zhou Xinfang.This paper restored the drama situation of isolated-island period.It also analyzed the Combo management characteristics and the contributions to Peking Opera reform of Zhou Xinfang.At the same time,it also analyzed the differences of stage concept between Beijing school Peking opera,Shanghai school Peking opera and Qi school Peking opera,and summarized the role and significance of Zhou Xinfang in the process of Peking Opera reform.This paper put forward the possible ideas of Peking Opera reform and innovation in the future.Shanghai Theater Art Club was the most influential drama performance group in this period.Its greatest feature was its political identity behind it.It was a strong handle for the Chinese Communist Party to carry out propaganda work in Shanghai.Academics used to use the standard of "politics the first,art the second,commerce the third" in the study of it.This idea is not unreasonable,but it also makes us lack of comprehensive understanding of the reasons for its success.One of the most basic facts is:its glory was gained mainly from the abandonment of amateur nature,the change to a professional theater,the commercial operation,and the competition in the market.This paper combines the influence of the market mechanism with the successful experience of the Shanghai Theater Art Club,proving the positive effect of the market on its political propaganda mission.At the same time,it pointed out the upper limit of the artistic standard and the reason,and made up the artistic reflection which neglected under great narrative of the patriotic history.Lvbao Theater is a venue performing popular drama,and its biggest feature is dramatizing the crude stage play.Academics have not thinking highly of the crude stage play for a long time,so its research is lacking.This paper argues that the Lvbao drama belongs to the popular drama,and combined the concept of popular drama with its play situation to prove the rationality of the use of this concept.At the same time,the paper expounded the influence that the market mechanism made on popular spirit of the popular drama,and explained the role of the market mechanism to promote it.The conclusion is about the overall reflection of the isolated-island opera and the Shanghai school culture,and the basic conclusions are:First,the abnormal prosperity can be guided by the real prosperity,and the concocted prosperity is the deceitful fake prosperity;Second,the characteristics of Shanghai school culture can be profoundly revealed only in the sense of time,and its growth mechanism has the unanimous development path with today’s globalization. |
