Oral health is an important part of overall health.If the oral health is poor,it will not only cause dental pain,gum bleeding,jaw deformity and other oral problems,but also cause or aggravate other diseases of the whole body,such as bacterial endocarditis,chronic gastritis,chronic nephritis,diabetes,Alzheimer’s disease,etc.Researches have shown that the quality of oral health in childhood will determine a person’s level of oral health in adulthood.Therefore,it is very important to manage oral health during childhood.The ideal oral health management for children should cover its entire lifecycle,including pre-consultation health management(daily oral health maintenance and pre-consultation management),during-consultation health management,and post-consultation health management.However,due to the current lack of such an efficient and convenient entire process,entire cycle management system,it is difficult to improve the general oral health level of children in China,ultimately increasing the economic burden on families and society.These clinical issues are mainly reflected in:(1)Pre-consultation stage.The problems include lack of automated assessment system for children’s oral health status,lack of the technology for automated diagnosis of common diseases,lack of ways to obtain authoritative oral science knowledge and personalized oral health guidance,lack of communication ways with doctors in advance,lack of means to assist parents in managing children’s brushing behavior(brushing willingness,brushing frequency,brushing time,etc.),and lack of scientific methods to adjust children’s dietary habits.(2)During-consultation stage.The scientific medical service system is not perfect,the storage form of medical record on patient-side needs to be improved,and there is lack of mobile management of patients by doctors.(3)Post-consultation stage.The problems include lack of timely feedback and handling system of postoperative adverse reactions,lack of individual postoperative health guidance and lack of communication ways with doctors after surgery.With the continuous improvement of computer technology,cloud computing,Internet,mobile terminal,image processing,and artificial intelligence,smart health has gradually entered into people’s vision.So,can we use these technological means to build an intelligent platform for monitoring and managing children’s oral health,and achieve informatic and intelligent management of the entire cycle and process of children’s oral health in response to the existing clinical problems?Although there are currently some oral mobile applications on the market,their functions are relatively single and they do not take oral health management as the starting point.The vast majority of applications are only led by technology companies,without the participation of dental professionals,and the accuracy and authority of their content cannot be guaranteed.Therefore,in this article with the corporation of dental professionals and computer professionals,mobile software will be used as a carrier to study the methods of implementing an entire cycle intelligent management system for children’s oral health.The aim is to help doctors and parents better manage children’s oral health and improve the oral health level of children in China.In the first part of the study,the use of smartphones and medical applications among dentists and parents of children in China was investigated through questionnaires.In the study,all dentists and parents had smartphones.The results provided the possibility of clinical application of the children’s oral health management system in this study.76% of dentists and 27.6% of parents installed medical apps on their smartphones.They all hoped that there would be more function-rich oral medical software in the future.This provided the basis for follow-up research.From the second to third parts,firstly the needs of dentists and parents of children in the first part were analyzed,and then the needs and the management process of children’s oral health throughout the entire cycle were combined.The My SQL 5.7 database management system was designed,and Java programming language was used.By constructing a mobile software as a carrier,the implementation of an intelligent management system for children’s oral health throughout the entire cycle was studied.In the research of automated children’s oral health assessment methods,three commonly used children’s oral health assessment scales(Children’s Dental Anxiety Assessment Scale,Children’s Caries Risk Assessment Scale,and Children’s General Anesthesia Risk Assessment Scale)were designed firstly.Then,according to the evaluation principles of the scales,the required database was designed and the scales were placed in the corresponding database,Finally,specific coding work was carried out through Java to achieve automated assessment of children’s oral health.This evaluation method had the characteristics of simple operation and fast results.Not only could parents understand the risk of caries in their children,the degree of cooperation in oral treatment,and the risk of general anesthesia,but it could also help dentists have a more comprehensive understanding of the overall situation of the child,making it easier to prepare in advance.In the research of intelligent diagnosis method for common diseases in children,image recognition and artificial intelligence technology were used to establish the corresponding online intelligent diagnosis model.In the study,diagnosis of anterior crossbite deformity was considered as the breakthrough,and convolutional neural network was used to established the diagnostic model.After testing,the accuracy of the model was 93.98%,the recall was 91.38%,the precision was 96.95%,and the F-1 score was94.08%.After the diagnostic model was successfully constructed,it would be integrated with the proposed health management system.The research on the entire cycle intelligent management system for children’s oral health mainly focused on the different functional requirements of the entire lifecycle of children’s oral health management.The pre-consultation management system mainly included automatic evaluation,intelligent diagnosis,online doctor-patient communication,popular science knowledge,brushing guidance and supervision,dietary recording and adjustment,etc.The management system during consultation mainly included online appointment,online doctor-patient communication,online access to medical records(the electronic medical records on the patient side),and mobile management for patients by doctors.The post-consultation management system included rapid feedback on adverse events after treatment and personalized postoperative health guidance.The management systems of pre-consultation,during-consultation,and post-consultation were integrated into one software in the experiment,ultimately forming a complete and intelligent management system for children’s oral health throughout the entire cycle.In the fourth part,the testing and clinical evaluation of the system were conducted.Automatic testing and manual testing were combined to test the functionality,performance,concurrency,stress,and other aspects of the system in different operating environments.The results showed that the system performs well in terms of functionality,business processes,fault tolerance,security,performance,ease of use,and adaptability.The response time was less than 300 ms,and the success rate of things was 100%.There were no errors that cannot perform normal or important functions.In order to test the use of the system in clinic,20 patients were recruited to use it.The usability and functionality of the system were evaluated by the System Usability Scale(SUS)and the Mobile App Rating Scale(MARS).The SUS score was 67.75.Compared with SUS’s neutral score of 50(not good or bad),this result was still worthy of recognition.For MARS,the average score of objective evaluation(Section A-D)was 3.44,the score of subjective evaluation(Section E)was 3.33,and the score of application impact(Section F)was 4.05.The patients generally believed that the system could change their perception of oral health and improve their oral health behavior.Through the study,a mobile and intelligent children’s oral health management platform had been successfully constructed,achieving an intelligent management system for the entire cycle and process of children’s oral health.It enabled more children to receive high-quality oral health services,completed and detailed oral health records,and oral health self-management throughout their entire lifecycle while improving the service efficiency and quality of oral health service institutions.As a new medical service tool,smart health will provide more and more services for people.Not only can it broaden patients’ access to health services,enhance their self-health management abilities,but it can also improve the efficiency and quality of medical services.Smart health will also become a new trend in future health management.
