Three chapters were included in the dissertation.In the first chapter,the research situation of Lyonia ovalifolia,Lyonia ovalifolia var.hebecarpa,Lyonia ovalifolia var.elliptica of Lyonia were summarized,In the second chapter,the chemical constituents of Lyonia ovalifolia var.hebecarpa were systematic studied contaning 51 compounds were identified.In the third chapter,some compounds incuding 15 new triterpene glycosides were evaluated cytotoxic activity in vitro.Lyonia ovalifolia var hebecarpa belongs to Lyonia genus of Ericaceae.It has about 35 species,native to eastern Asia,South to the Malay Peninsula,North America to Daan Antilles.There are 6 species and 5 varieties in our country,which are distributed in the East and southwest.It is a deciduous tree growing mainly in hilly and valley regions.Mainly distributed in Anhui,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Guangdong,Guangxi,Sichuan,northwest of Yunnan.They are also distributed in North of Korea,south of Japan,the Malay Peninsulaand Indonesia.The leaves of L.var hebecarpa were used as folk medicine to treat bronchitis,cough,rheumatism,pain,diabetes,and skin ailments.51 compounds incuding 15 new triterpene glycosides were isolated from the leaves of L.var hebecarpa by using normal phase,and RP reversed phase silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,HPLC and other modern separation technology.Their structrues including the absolute configuration were established by extensive MS and NMR spectroscopic analysis and acid hydrolysis.The main chemical components of the compound were triterpene saponins,thri terpenoids,sesquiterpenoids,sesquiterpenoids,iridoid,flavonoids,lignans and lignan glycosides.Since triterpenoids has been reported had antitumor activity,triterpene glycosides 1-15 of new compounds were evaluated against different tumor cell lines.Compounds 1,7-9,and 15 have significant antitumor activitys against HL-60,SMMC-7721,MCF-7,A-549,and SW480,respectivly.In addition,compounds 1 and 9 had strong inhibitory effect on five different tumor cells same as the positive control drug.The structure-activity relationship was discussed,which provided the oretical basis for further structural modification and activity study of thriterpenoids.
