With the development of economy and society in China,it has entered a new era for urbanization characterized by the depopulation of mega-cities,the population of urban agglomerations, and the agglomeration of industries. It’s a new challenge for change to develop transportation: how to construct the regional transportation network of urban agglomerations can have significant growth in terms of vitality and greenness, and how to efficiently and continuously improve the transportation service capacity of the central city as the core of the urban agglomeration. The green and humanized transportation system, together with the increasingly powerful urban agglomerations, will vigorously integrate into a wider range of economic and social activities. In addition to the above reasons, this dissertation also relied on the experience of the author’s actual work in Xi’an,the related development models, the data of the Guan Zhong urban agglomeration collected by the Chang’an University Urban Agglomeration Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Base(B20035),the national key projects of the Natural Science Foundation of China(51878062),and research and development plan urban smart travel service system technology integration application cloud-network-end integrated city-level smart parking service technology(supported by SQ2019YFB1600703).This thesis analyses the unsustainable contradictions in performance and resource allocation between the current situation of urban agglomerations’ transportation and national strategies, proposes the development goals of sustainable and accessible, green, high carrying capacity, resilient and smart services for urban agglomerations’ transportation, and provides an in-depth study on the performance index measurement of integrated transportation system under the combination of public-rail and hub corridors, and the efficient integration strategy of travelstop conversion for multi-modal changes of network, corridors and central cities In-depth research has been conducted. The specific research contents include:(1)Based on theoretical system of sustainable development of urban agglomeration transportation,This chapter sorts out and analyses the functional, resource and environmental objectives of sustainable development of passenger transport in urban agglomerations in terms of sustainable development theory, urban agglomeration transport sustainability and key points, and proposes a theoretical system that includes network, corridor articulation and operational resilience optimization(2)Research on the multi-mode passenger transport network in urban agglomeration is based on the accessibility. The multi-modal passenger transport network is a vehicle for the timeliness and input of passenger transport services in urban agglomerations, and the method of its layout is the primary issue for the sustainability of passenger transport change systems in urban agglomerations.Taking a dynamic city cluster as a premise, this chapter explores strategies for determining and improving the sustainability of passenger transport networks in city clusters in terms of the selection of indicators for maintaining urban vitality and accessibility, evaluation methods for multi-modal composites, and network deployment methods for improving accessibility in city clusters, introducing a GIS-based multi-modal transport accessibility analysis method. The role of different modes in improving the traffic of urban agglomerations is analyzed, and the performance of high speed rail construction, line network encryption and route opening in the Guan Zhong urban agglomeration is applied to obtain the effect of improving the performance of transportation multi-modal development network.(3)Study on the optimization of resource allocation of multi-modal low-emission passenger transport corridors in urban agglomerations green travel system is a composite function of the emission performance of multi-modal transport rational sharing modes in urban agglomerations, and is an important component of transport sustainability in urban agglomerations This chapter explores how to find a low emission structure for urban cluster multi-modal passenger corridor traffic in terms of multi-modal passenger traffic sharing modelling, carbon emission performance index measurement, and green performance of urban cluster passenger corridors with composite traffic sharing and emission performance. The paper first proposes a modelling method for passenger traffic sharing and carbon emission calculation method for multi-modal corridors in urban agglomerations, uses it as a basis to analyze possible carbon reduction strategies, and verifies the validity of the model with the corridors around Xi’an,and then uses the Xi’an – Wei Nan passenger traffic as an example to discover the optional strategies and possible effects of low carbon.(4)Central city-urban agglomeration internal and external linkage traffic study. The traffic volume of the central city-city cluster internal and external articulation corridor is large and has a wide impact, which is the core of sustainable traffic in the city agglomeration. There is an urgent need to establish a multi-modal traffic performance measurement and preevaluation method. The airport, railway station, passenger station,high-grade highway interchange, and other hub facilities of urban transportation will serve as an important conversion point between cities and intercity, intercity and intercity, connecting urban and regional transportation. The expressways, trunk roads, subways, and bus public transportation within the city have the function of converting the traffic of urban agglomeration into the traffic within the city. The continuity of its carrying capacity is also an important part of ensuring smooth traffic in urban agglomeration. This dissertation makes an in-depth exploration of its system composition,sub-dimension system balance of traffic carrying a capacity balance, and so on.The thesis topologizes a model of the inner and outer articulation corridors of the central city, defines a series of model systems for the measurement of multidimensional calm traffic carrying capacity and equilibrium performance, and evaluates the effectiveness of traffic improvement strategies based on the models.(5)Study on the resilience of passenger transport in urban agglomerations is indispensable. The most common challenge for passenger transport in urban agglomerations that are already saturated with traffic is how to maintain resilience.Based on a dynamic big data approach, situational awareness and redundancy channel tapping are key to dynamic performance improvement. This chapter systematically explores the concept of passenger transport toughness of urban agglomeration, the key points of Maas transportation of urban agglomeration, the analysis of maintaining the traffic vitality of saturated channels, and traffic organization technology. It also verifies the feasibility of the ideas and methods with the example of traffic organization during the construction period of important access roads during the renovation of Xi’an Railway Station.Innovation points include:(1)The shortest time for multi-mode travel including transfers should be solved, and multiple factors such as cost, geographic location, and distribution of surrounding transportation infrastructure should be considered. This dissertation proposes reachability network performance optimization method.(2)Based on statistics,a calculation model of corridor sharing rate were proposed. And based on a calculation method of life-long carbon emissions of construction, maintenance and transportation by transportation volume per person-kilometer,this paper formulates a combined optimization of transportation volume-construction,maintenance and transportation carbon emissions model and proposed a decomposition set calculation method of responsible party carbon emissions starting from the consumer side.(3)The internal and external connection model of multiple channels and multiple modes of transportation is established. In addition, based on the influence of inbound and outbound transit traffic on the connecting passages of the hub,a balance formula for the carrying capacity of internal and external connections is proposed. And countermeasures are proposed for unsaturated and saturated flow conditions.(4)A method for identifying traffic status under grid units and defining the impact range of abnormal events and targeting specific services or road sections and algorithm model of failure diversion strategy is proposed based on static statistical data and dynamic network traffic performance change characteristics. The paper proposes a methodology for the sustainable development of passenger transport in urban agglomerations, including a method for multi-modal passenger transport networks in urban agglomerations based on accessibility, allocating resources for multi-modal low-emission passenger transport corridors in urban agglomerations, studying the transport of internal and external connections in the central cities of urban agglomerations, and enhancing the resilience of passenger transport systems in urban agglomerations. Some of the work has been verified in practice and has achieved good results. The thesis research has a certain theoretical and practical reference value for the sustainable development of real transportation systems.
