High-tech start-ups are an important force in promoting the development of science and technology innovation in China,however,the entrepreneurs of high-tech start-ups will face many challenges in the entrepreneurial process: on the one hand,the challenges originate from the ability of the entrepreneurs,who need to face endogenous problems such as the shortage and allocation of resources within the enterprise and enterprise innovation level limitations in the entrepreneurial process;on the other hand,the challenges originate from the ability of the enterprise itself,as the external business environment is more uncertain than before,so it needs to have the organizational ability to meet and adapt to the uncertainty of the environment in order to cope with the risk and get out of trouble,and the ability of the organization to continuously adjust and reform according to the changing environment and market demand,and to quickly launch new products and services becomes especially important.Therefore,the study of the improvement of enterprise leadership and enterprise organizational capabilities,as well as the impact of entrepreneurial leadership on the improvement of organizational capabilities,is a research topic of increasing value.The study focuses on entrepreneurial leadership,organizational resilience,and its impact on innovation performance of new high-tech start-ups.Entrepreneurial leadership is a leadership capability to identify and develop opportunities for entrepreneurship to adapt to an uncertain environment,which focuses on finding entrepreneurial opportunities,creating an entrepreneurial atmosphere,and leading subordinates to make continuous reforms and innovations to the enterprise under a highly uncertain internal and external environment;organizational resilience is a dynamic organizational capability that helps an enterprise to rebound from a crisis,which enables an enterprise to use its resources and capabilities to solve the current dilemmas,and to take advantage of opportunities to promote innovative development and enhance innovation performance.This paper starts with a study of the dimensions of entrepreneurial leadership based on new high-tech start-ups.On the basis of a systematic review of the literature on entrepreneurial leadership and other related concepts,this study takes high-tech start-up entrepreneurs as the research target and conducts qualitative research through semi-structured interviews and other data to extract the core connotations and dimensions of entrepreneurial leadership in accordance with the rooted theory,and extrapolate and argue these dimensions to check whether they are consistent with the existing literature on the depiction of entrepreneurial leadership.After that,we developed a qualitative research on the basis of entrepreneurial leadership dimensions,including four dimensions of strategic foresight,innovation motivation,integration resources,and risk mitigation.Finally,the 4-dimensional,15-item measure of the Entrepreneurial Leadership The scale was tested for reliability and validity and was able to reliably,validly,and consistently measure the construct of entrepreneurial leadership.Measurement Scale was developed and tested in conjunction with the existing literature.Further,this paper conducts an empirical study on entrepreneurial leadership,organizational resilience,and enterprise innovation performance.Based on strategic entrepreneurship theory,the study constructs the mechanism of how entrepreneurial leadership contributes to the innovation performance of enterprises by enhancing organizational resilience,and also examines how the entrepreneurial environment affects the above relationship.A total of 408 valid questionnaires were collected from enterprises in high-tech entrepreneurship parks in the Yangtze River Delta.After correlation analysis,validation factor analysis,and regression analysis of the research data,and testing the research hypotheses based on the results of the statistical analysis,the following main research findings were drawn:1.Entrepreneurial leadership has a strong positive prediction effect on both organization and employee innovation performance,in which the four dimensions of strategic foresight,innovation motivation,integration resources,and risk mitigation.have a remarkable direct effect on organization innovation performance.2.Organizational resilience plays a mediating role in the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovation performance(including both organizational and individual employee dimensions).3.The study also explored the moderating role of the entrepreneurial environment,and eventually found that the dynamics and complexity play a positive moderating role in the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and organizational resilience,while the permissiveness of the entrepreneurial environment does not play a strong moderating role in the relationship between the two.The main work and contributions of the study are in two main areas: conceptual research and empirical research.1.Research on entrepreneurial leadership.Most previous studies have been conducted on the basis of Western theories and tools,but there is a lack of empirical and theoretical constructs on the connotation and conception of entrepreneurial leadership in the Chinese context,especially there are relatively few studies related to Chinese high-tech enterprises.In this study,a rich sample of high-tech start-up entrepreneurs in the Yangtze River Delta was used to validate and develop the theoretical conceptualization of entrepreneurial leadership under the national strategic background——develop the country through Science and Technology Innovation,and an entrepreneurial leadership measurement scale was developed based on the qualitative study,which innovates the research on the conceptualization of entrepreneurial leadership in the Chinese context.2.Since the COVID-19,the organization capacity of enterprises to respond to dynamic changes in the environment has become very important.Can leadership contribute to the improvement of dynamic corporate capabilities? This is a practical question that needs to be answered by the theoretical community.Based on this,this study focuses on the impact of entrepreneurial leadership on the organizational capability of enterprises,and constructs a research model with organizational resilience as a mediating variable under the research paradigm of “entrepreneurial leadership-mechanisms influencing enterprise innovation performance”.The model explores the mediating role of organizational toughness and the moderating role of entrepreneurial environment.In the empirical part,a sample of high-tech start-ups in the Yangtze River Delta was studied to obtain and analyze the paths and evidence of entrepreneurial leaders' ability to enhance organizational capability and influence innovation performance in the Chinese entrepreneurial context from the perspective of leadership influence on organizational capability.
