The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly puts forward the ambitious goal of building a powerful transportation country.In 2019,Hunan Province is one of the first batch of provinces selected as the pilot province of powerful transportation construction,and the construction of the whole area tourism ecological landscape road and comprehensive transportation becomes the key direction of transportation construction in Hunan Province.A series of policies have brought multiple opportunities to the tourism economic development and transportation infrastructure construction in Western Hunan.As an important tourism resource gathering place and Tourism Development Center in the central region,Xiangxi are facing problems such as how to promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas? How to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and realize the leap forward development of ethnic minority areas through efficient and comprehensive transportation network construction?Based on the theory of regional spatial structure and transportation theory,this paper takes the evolutionary process of the transportation network and tourism economic space in Western Hunan Province as the research object.On the basis of accessibility analysis and traffic network topology analysis,this paper reveals the stage process,characteristics and laws of mutual co-evolution between them,and constructs the impulse response model to identify the interaction mechanism of the them.The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between transportation and tourism economic space;to reveal the influence path and law of transportation network on the development and coordination of regional tourism economic space,so as to realize the in-depth development of regional tourism economic theory research;to sort out the quantitative analysis framework of traffic network structure characteristics and regional tourism economic pattern,construct the technology and method system of mutual analysis,and promote the research innovation of tourism and transportation research methods.The paper summarizes the general process and collaborative model of spatial evolution and development of traffic and tourism economy in the case area,and puts forward the direction and strategy of regional tourism economic development based on the characteristics of the traffic network.This paper mainly includes the following four aspects of research contents and conclusions:(1)The analysis results of the traffic network in Xiangxi region show that the period from 2005 to 2010 is the fastest development stage of the traffic network,and the hierarchical structure of the traffic network presents a "narrow pyramid" structure.The traffic pattern presents a "core periphery" mode with Huaihua,Fenghuang and Jishou at the center and decreasing to the periphery.The overall structure of traffic advantage degree in Western Hunan is "spindle type",and the traffic advantage of most counties is not obvious.Hecheng,Zhongfang and their surrounding areas are high value areas of traffic advantage in Western Hunan,while Yongding and its surrounding areas are relatively slow.(2)The analysis of the evolution of tourism economic pattern shows that the differences of the tourism economy in Western Hunan are generally narrowing,but the differences of tourism economic development level among different counties are still great.Domestic tourism income of Yongding District and Wulingyuan District is far higher than the average level of the whole province.On the vertical gradient,there are fewer counties in the primary gradient,less middle gradient and more counties and cities in the bottom gradient.The tourism economy level presents a dual-core point distribution with Yongding Wulingyuan and Fenghuang at the center,and gradually decreases to the surrounding areas.The tourism economy developed areas have insufficient driving effect on the surrounding counties.The hot areas are concentrated in the northern region,and the spatial correlation characteristics of the southern region are not significant.(3)With the help of Grey relational analysis,Impulse-response Analysis,Coupling coordination degree analysis and GWR Model,this paper explores the spatiotemporal correlation characteristics between the transportation network and tourism economy in Western Hunan.It is found that the transportation development level has a negative impact on the tourism economic level of Western Hunan in the short term,but the positive response time is longer.Although the amplitude is small,it will have a positive promotion on tourism income in the long-term contribution of transportation to tourism economy is between 20% and 27%.In terms of spatial coupling of transportation and tourism economy,from 2005 to 2019,the coupling coordination degree in Western Hunan first increase and then decrease,and the comprehensive coordination level change from mild imbalance to near imbalance.In 2019,the main types of coupling coordination in Western Hunan are mild imbalance and the verge of imbalance,lacking high-level high-quality coordination counties.The division of coupling coordination types in different periods shows that the lag of tourism economic system is the main reason for the low level of coupling coordination.GWR analysis shows that there is a significant spatial difference in the impact of traffic advantage on tourism economic level,which is low in the middle and high in the north and south area.Sangzhi,Wulingyuan and Cili are most affected by traffic benefit,and the regression coefficient decreases to the south,while Zhongfang,Hecheng and Mayang are least affected.(4)By summarizing the results and conclusions of the previous paper,it is concluded that the existing problems of tourism economic pattern in Western Hunan mainly include:1)There is a large gap in the development of tourism resources,and the spatial development of tourism economy is not balanced;2)The vertical structure gradient of tourism economy is incomplete,and the middle level counties and cities are missing;3)the radiation and driving role of tourism economic center is not obvious,and the spatial interaction needs to be further strengthened;4)the transportation advantages and tourism economic development are misplaced,and most counties and districts are in a state of barely coordination or on the verge of imbalance.It is suggested that the following strategies should be adopted to promote the coordinated development of tourism and transportation: 1)To promote the optimization and upgrading of the coupling state of transportation and tourism economic system by classification and coordination;2)To promote the integration of regional industries and the optimization of spatial layout by adjusting measures to local conditions and making accurate zoning policies;3)To build cross regional tourism channels by integrated planning and development,so as to promote the spatial linkage of regional tourism economy.
