Research On The Internationalization Location Choice Of Chinese Banks Under The "One Belt And One Road" Initiative

International operation is not only the inevitable trend of the reform and development of the world banking industry,but also the necessary link of the transformation and development of Chinese banks.For the international development of banks,no matter the overseas business reform,international merger and acquisition or reorganization,all need to be implemented through the overseas layout as the carrier.Setting up overseas branches and strengthening regional layout is the most direct manifestation of internationalization,and also the basic path to achieve first-class transnational banks.In the past few decades,established transnational banks in developed countries have greatly promoted their internationalization process through overseas layout and made brilliant achievements.However,the financial crisis and The European debt crisis have made the internationalization development of the established multinational banks in developed countries enter a bottleneck period.The business and location advantages in the early stage no longer exist,and some of the established multinational banks even choose to withdraw from the secondary regional market to preserve their competitive strength.This is undoubtedly a window of opportunity for emerging economies to seize the international market.The rapid growth of the world banking industry has forced Chinese banks to think about how to further deepen their overseas market layout,strengthen business management,and realize the transformation from "going out" to "sinking" and from "becoming bigger" to "becoming stronger" after the rapid development in the early stage of internationalization.Chinese banks are at a critical stage of seeking strategic development and international transformation.However,the current global economic downturn,the continuing impact of the epidemic and the rising tide of antiglobalization,the road of international development of Chinese banks is not plain sailing.However,China's strong economic and financial market,as well as the performance of international economic cooperation platforms such as the Belt and Road Initiative and THE RECP free Trade Zone,still provide sufficient development space for Chinese banks.In particular,the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative advocated by China has opened up a new path for the internationalization of Chinese banks.Therefore,both theoretical and practical circles have paid more and more attention to the research on the internationalization development of Chinese banks and the "Belt and Road" Initiative.After reviewing the researches on the internationalization development of Chinese banks and the belt and Road Initiative,we find that there are more macro researches than micro ones,and more practical exploration than practical analysis.There are many issues worth thinking about: First,the mainstream research on bank internationalization still focuses on how to improve the competitiveness of bank internationalization and the analysis of factors affecting the development of bank internationalization,while ignoring the very important research on location selection layout and environmental background.Second,Chinese banks are the backbone of the financing of the Belt and Road Initiative,but there are few research results focusing on the promotion relationship between the two.Third,few researchers will start from the overall perspective of "Belt and Road",conduct specific analysis on location choice issues,explore and establish systematic data models,and provide quantifiable countermeasures and suggestions.Based on the above problems,this paper believes that for Chinese banks,making full use of the platform of the belt and Road Initiative and seizing the opportunities of international development of banks,location selection and layout is the most urgent problem to be solved at present.Under the "area" initiative,therefore,the research of location selection of internationalization of Chinese Banks is a challenging work,this is not only to the overall situation of countries along the "area" initiative of the broad,is for Banks to dig deeper into the location choice of internationalization path,but also the innovation research of correlation matching degree between.By establishing an evaluation system for international Cooperation between the Belt and Road Initiative and Chinese banks(hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation System for International Cooperation between Chinese Banks),this paper selects political,economic,financial,trade and business data of 69 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative from 2015 to 2019 as samples.With the help of SVM support vector machine model(hereinafter referred to as "SVM model"),the classification evaluation is carried out to empirically analyze whether the countries along the belt and Road are suitable for the development of Chinese banks.At the same time,the index involved in bank internationalization motivation is compared with the empirical results,and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are given for the location selection of Internationalization of Chinese banks.When choosing target countries along the Belt and Road Initiative for their international layout,Chinese banks can make targeted differentiated choices based on the research results and their own business development needs to reduce the cost of location choice layout.At the same time,the research conclusions can also provide quantifiable development suggestions for Chinese banks of different nature or at different stages of international development,and scientifically and comprehensively evaluate and select the optimal location suitable for their own international development,which has great practical significance and theoretical value.The whole research is divided into six parts: Chapter 1 introduces the background,significance,main research content,research methods,and main innovation points and shortcomings of the thesis.Chapter 2 introduces the theoretical research status and excellent cases of bank internationalization location choice.The basic concepts and theories involved in the research are explained,the research results of domestic and foreign scholars are systematically sorted out and commented,and the experience of international location selection for reference is extracted through the analysis of international cases of large banks at home and abroad.Chapter 3,the general influence factors of location choice for bank internationalization,especially Chinese Banks under the "area" initiative,which can identify specific influence factors of location selection based on the comprehensive combing Chinese Banks present situation of cooperation with "area" initiative,judgement of Chinese Banks in the "area" under the initiative of the advantages and disadvantages.Chapter 4,starting from the theoretical framework,introduces the ideas and methods of establishing the evaluation system for International cooperation of Chinese banks,the establishment of database and the selection of indicators,etc.,and further explains the principle of SVM model and the connotation of indicators.In chapter 5,the SVM model is used for empirical analysis,and based on the experimental results of THE SVM model,the motivation theory of bank internationalization is regression,and the targeted judgment suggestions are given in combination with the differentiation indicators.Chapter 6,the main conclusions and suggestions for the next step of internationalization location choice of Chinese banks.Through theoretical deduction and empirical research,the main conclusions of this paper are as follows: Firstly,the belt and Road Initiative and the internationalization development of Chinese banks are in line with each other.The SVM model experiment has a high accuracy,and the results show that 47 countries in the sample set are suitable for Chinese banks to open branches or further develop international business.Secondly,from the analysis of empirical results,asean,Central and Eastern Europe are the most suitable regions for Chinese banks to explore and develop under the belt and Road Initiative.Third,based on the empirical analysis,Chinese banks can comprehensively consider additional factors such as tax laws,cultural dimensions and environmental performance to further optimize location choice results.Finally,SVM model can realize further extension,stay "in" all the way along the initiative national data to further improve,develop more mature,but based on the existing model parameters directly,and to realize real-time measure the results of the model in a timely manner to help Chinese Banks under the "area" initiative to realize internationalization location optimal selection.At the same time,in order to further improve and consolidate the location advantage under the "belt and road" initiative,Chinese banks should make the following arrangements :(1)overall planning of international location selection layout strategy;(2)Make phased arrangement of location selection and layout to realize grid radiation to countries along the belt and Road Initiative;(3)Strengthen international cooperation awareness of Chinese banks under the Belt and Road Initiative,strengthen corporate governance,and improve service management efficiency;(4)Further fulfill the responsibility of sustainable development and support the sound economic development of countries along the Belt and Road through service.
