The globalization of IC industry has been the mainstay of promoting the in-depth development of information revolution.In 2000,China proposed to accelerate the integration into IC global ecosystem and formed an all-regions multi-level development pattern.However,the hidden security dangers come with this globalization that is related to the welfares of nation and people.In 2016,the invention of A2 marked that micro-level hacker logics(HLs)have been extremely hidden and made traditional digital security tools helpless.Realistic predicament impels technological innovations,and brings us important achievements such as layout analysis and side-channel analysis.Layout analysis can detect routing-level circuit information in IC,but its economic and time costs make it difficult to popularize.Although the costs of side-channel analysis are relatively low,but its accuracy is limited by IC scale and the application scope is narrow.In 2014,Intel particularly proposed a method using thermal map comparison and instantaneous power analysis,but the large-scale instantaneous power simulation still does not exist.In 2015,Boston University proposed a method using embedded thermal watermarking whose insertion,however,makes IC design difficult.The realistic contradiction makes it urgent to explore a compromise method with wide-range,high-precision and low-cost.Problem orientation&theoretical basis.The chapter of attack and defense system(A&DS),based on enriching HL classifications,firstly concludes and infers the physical manifestations of HLs,and clarifies the intrinsic detection target.After that,it analyses the matrix physical quantity essence of thermal map,and demonstrates the feasibility on and comparative advantages of HL detection.On top of that,it constructs a trinity attack system with IC life cycle,attackers and IC sorts,and a trinity defense system with threat detection stages,testers and attack sorts.Additionally,it reveals the intrinsic relationship between attack system and defense system.Effective tool brings us good work.The chapter of experimental system(ES)firstly clarifies the fatal interferences origining from silicon-based heat conduction,ambient thermal noise,instrument sampling noise,the measurement tilt of thermal map and the mechanic jitter of infrared camera.Then,combining thermal physical mechanism,it proposes an atmosphere&defilade based 3 dimension-space noise mitigation.On the other hand,combining wavelet transform principle,it proposes a wavelet analysis based 1 dimension-time noise mitigation.In addition,it proposes Hough-based calibration.Software and hardware work together to construct a high-precision and low-cost thermal map acquisition environment.Suitable method perfroms tool well.The chapter of detection system(DS),aiming at the problem of 3rd-party after-silicon HL attack and focusing on different practical demands,proposes a time vector based spatial projection transformation method,and an inspection and judgement based negative peak recognition method.Additionally,Bernoulli threshold is utilized to mitigate the result error.Golden IC-based detection and golden-free detection are complementary to construct an HL DS.System Evaluation.The three systems,attack and defense,experiment,and detection,work together to construct thermal map based HL detection system.Golden IC-based detection experiment using Xilinx FGPA can detect incremental type HL and modified type HL,and golden IC-free detection experiment using Yin He Fei Teng DSP can detect incremental type HL.In addition,compared with layout analysis,the ecomomic cost of this system is reduced by 1000 times and the time cost is reduced by15 times,and compared with side-channel analysis,the detection accuracy of this system is improved by 26 to 2000 times.Overall,our proposed detection system can achieve an HL detection with wide-range,high-precision and low-cost.
