With the development of mobile network technology and the widespread use of smart phones with front-end cameras,self-timer becomes easier and easier.In the era of mobile internet,the flourishing of social media has given more space for self-portrait distribution and sharing,making self-portrait a ubiquitous phenomenon in the virtual social era of mobile terminals."Self-portrait social interaction" has also become a unique way of social interaction and interpersonal communication in the context of this era.By publishing self-portraits in social networks,beautifying and decorating self-portraits,or pretending to be ugly,challenging action and other types of personalized visual expression,modern people have also managed impressions according to the target audience,created "ideal visual image" in order to leave "ideal impression" to others,so as to meet different psychological needs or achieve different societies.All of those are Common methods of intent.Impression management is a process in which people influence others' impressions of themselves in a certain way.This theory was put forward by Irving Goffman,a famous American social psychologist,in his masterpiece Self-presentation in Daily Life.Impression management is a common communicative strategy in modern society.It is one of the basic needs of people in modern society to construct and present an "ideal self" in front of the target audience.The core idea is that in order to achieve a certain goal,people will try to manage or change other people's perception of their own impressions.In modern society,people pay more and more attention to social efficiency and effective impression management.The prosperity of network and social media has expanded a broader stage for the impression management of modern people.By publishing and sharing self-portraits on network platforms and social media terminals,self-portraits have become a popular way of self-presentation for modern people.For women who pay more attention to their personal visual image,self-portrait is an important way and means of their impression management and image rectification.As the backbone of self-portrait crowd,female groups,because of their gender characteristics,have different prominent characteristics from male groups in every aspect of image construction,publication and sharing in self-portrait.They also show distinct gender characteristics of female groups in shooting means,scene selection and performance.In this study,the phenomenon of self-portrait of women in the age of social media was observed under the paradigm of impression management.In order to find out the effect and regularity of impression management by self-portrait,four dimensions of impression management framework are considered,namely "front stage","performance script","performance subject" and "back area".Under the paradigm of impression management,the "stage setting" of self-portrait self-portraits of women in the "front stage" dimension,as a result of a large number of applications of beauty painting software,it is easy to present a more "beautiful" and "ideal" self at the same time,sometimes it will deprive the authenticity because of excessive beauty.Because of the function of "production line" of beauty repair products,self-timer pictures after "beauty" have obvious homogeneity and lack of personality.This situation not only misleads the viewers of self-photography to a certain extent,but also influences the authenticity and personalized communication of the media landscape to a certain extent.At the "script" level of female self-portraits,most of the self-portraits of female groups will be published and shared through certain creativity and design,and the primary purpose of these creative "scripts" is to compete for the attention of the target people.In today's information-flooded society,attention is a precious and scarce resource.This inevitably makes some women's swords deviate and make ethical Anomies such as "dangerous self-portrait","disguised self-portrait","pornographic self-portrait" and "serious scene self-portrait" in order to win their eyes.Under the impression management paradigm,the female self-portrait "performance subject" is the female self-portrait shooting and publishing.In the process of publishing and sharing self-portraits,self-portrait women are based on their self-recognition,whether they are the role-shaping of "beauty" or "ugliness".Based on self-recognition,different roles of "ideal self" are presented through "idealized performance","paradoxical performance","mysterious performance" and "remedial performance"."Beauty" and "disguise ugliness" are both "facial expression" based on women's self-recognition,which will have different degrees of influence on self-identity of self-portrait women."Identity misunderstanding" is the most common influence of excessive beauty in the process of self-recognition of self-portrayed women.Generally speaking,the "back zone" of impression management is clearly separated from the "front stage".However,in the publication and sharing of female self-portraits in social media,the presentation of daily life often presents the situation of "front-end" and "back-end" in the face of different target people.Especially the emergence of short video sharing and live network broadcasting not only meets the self-presentation needs of self-portrait women,but also causes the blurred boundary of performance areas in impression management.Therefore,the phenomenon of "posterior area" and "posterior area transparency" often occurs in the impression management of female self-portraits.The purpose of this study is to find out the rule of female self-portrait in impression management,at the same time,avoid the misunderstanding of impression management in female self-portrait as far as possible,and find out more effective strategies for presenting "ideal self" in female self-portrait.
