University is one of the main forces of China's patent inventor.It has become the focus of attention from all walks of life that how universities can fully exploit and utilize patent resources through patent commercializaiton,so as to realize patent value and promote technological achievement transformation.This thesis constructs a value network model of patent commercialization based on the theory of value network,analizes the value creation of patent commercialization in the value network and its influence factors.At last,based on the theory of business model,the optimiation path of patent commercialization model is put forward and suggestions for universities and government are proposed as well.The main creative work and research conclusions of this study are as followed.Firstly,based on the analysis the organizational characteristics of patent commercialization,this thesis constructs a value network model of patent commercialization.It is found that organizations like universities,enterprises,financial institutions,intermediary institutions,government departments,etc.may play one or several different roles in patent commercialization,including commercialization organizers,patent creators,patent commercialization assistants and patent users,etc.The value in the patent commercialization value network can be summarized as patent and its derivatives,patent service,money and credit,knowledge and information,and other intangible income.Through activities like invention,value adding and value capture,nodes of value network can realize resource complementarity,which is helpfor for universities to make up for the lack of resources.Secondly,this thesis conducts a case study taking the patent commercialization practice of the University of Utah,United States as the sample,and discusses how universities can realize the value creation in patent commercialization based on value network.The research findings are as follows :(1)Partnership,resource & capability,and process &activity are three elements that can explain how to realize value creation;(2)in order to promote universities to adapt to market demand and reduce commercialization risk in patent commercialization,universities should pay attention to the establishment and maintenance of partnership with value network nodes to obtain complementary resources;(3)market-demand-oriented key activities such as patent value analysis,phased review and commercialization path management and so on have a strong impact on the value creation of patent commercialization.Thirdly,using system dynamics analysis method and evolutionary game theory,the thesis respectively builds the system dynamics model and evolutionary game model,analyzing the interaction between the network nodes,and explores the influence of related factors on the value creation of patent commercialization by performing simulation experiment.The results show that:(1)it is not obvious that increasing the inventor's share can promote the value creation and acquisition of patent commercialization;Moreover,compared with increasing the inventor's share and increasing the inventor's income,the increase of research expenditure has a greater impact on patent commercialization;(2)the factors influencing the cooperation of network nodes include the patent income,the cost paid by network nodes for cooperation and the government incentives;the effectiveness of commercialization assistant participation will affect the dynamic evolution of cooperation between the organizer and the assistant;compared with patent revenue,the cooperation cost between value network nodes is a more important factor affecting the cooperation between the organizer and patent users.Finally,taking 7 Chinese universities such as Jiangsu University and Shanghai Jiaotong University as cases,this thesis anylises the optimization path of university patent commercialization.Follow the core logic of “value orientation – value creation – value capture”,an analysis framework of the components of patent commercialization model is put forward.The components mainly include value proposition,process&activities,partnership,resource&capacity and source of income.Surrounding these components,an optimization path of university patent commercialization model is built following the core idea of "value orientation optimization-value creation optimization-value capture optimization".On the basis of the above research,countermeasures and suggestions for university and government are proposed.
