Teacher candidates are the main source of primary and secondary school teachers in China.Pre-service training quality of teacher education determines teachers’ quality and teacher education quality directly,which decides teachers’ overall level in primary and secondary schools.The cultivation of teacher candidates is the key factor affecting education quality in primary and secondary schools.They enter primary and secondary schools as teachers and set teaching as their career after graduation.Every teacher candidate contributes and devotes most to teaching career during their lifetime.The implementation of career education will help college students to improve the adaptability in their career development,so as to achieve a comprehensive and life-long development of higher quality.Career education courses for students should be designed well in normal colleges and universities to help students get prepared for their future career,reduce career confusion and anxiety,establish the career goal,and take the initiative to construct the teacher career development planning in future.In today’s society,new opportunities and challenges in teacher education have come into being because of the diversity of information,digitization,intelligence and multi-culture,what’s more,the degree of uncertainty faced by normal university students is increasing from time to time.Born in the industrialization era,education and career guidance have been unable to fully meet the requirements of education in the career of teacher candidates in Normal Universities.New opinions are put forward in the concept and objectives,curriculum content and methods,administration and evaluation by studying students career education policy in China,the situation of college students career education and college students’ career education courses abroad,and by observing feasibility and scientificity of construct study career theory in guiding the students’ career education course construction.In terms of the curriculum concept and objective,the concept of career education courses should be turned from the "post match" as the core of career education to "active constructing" in the development of comprehensive and lifelong career.The main goal of students’ career education courses should be based on helping students to build lifelong career development as teachers,guiding students to establish lifelong education of teaching beliefs,improving students’ professional adaptability,increasing students’ understanding of the basic theory on career development,so that the teacher candidates will be able to use the career development theory to guide the career development of primary and secondary school students.As for the content and methods of the course.The connotation of career education curriculum is composed of basic layer,middle layer and top layer,among which the top layer is teacher’s belief,professional ideal and belief education;The middle layer is the career adaptability of teacher candidates.The basic layer is the exploration and career decision of teacher candidates.As the main connector of education in the career development of primary and middle school students,the extension of the curriculum is the implementation of education for primary and secondary school students.Students’ career education courses,not only do help students build up their career,by studying career development theory,learning career exploration tools and methods,but also help teacher candidates as teachers to implement and conduct primary and middle school students’ career education activities.According to the guidance of the theory in career,the main target of students’ career education courses should be improving students’ career adaptability training.Teaching method should be changed from the rote of passive method of teaching in the past.The destruction,common structure and construction of the career narrative method should be applied into the whole curriculum.Group discussion,case analysis,brainstorming,reflection,prototyping interview,teamwork,practice and other forms and methods should be the main method of career education course for teacher candidates.In terms of course evaluation and administration.Attention should be paid to the evaluation of course process during the evaluation of career education curriculum.Students’ understanding of teachers’ faith and lifelong education;the reflection and arrangement of personal career of normal university students;students’ experience in interviewing and working in primary and secondary school;normal university students’ thinking on education integration should be recorded and evaluated timely during the course implementation.In order to promotes the teacher professional development,teachers’ qualification admittance system,evaluation system and ethics regulations should be established for teacher candidates during the teachers’ qualification training in career education.Members who have certain theoretical basis of cadre and are experienced,enthusiastic students career education,teaching and research can be selected from the employment guidance center and the counselor team to establish a professional career education and employment team.The high level and effect of students’ career education curriculum implementation should be ensured by group teaching plan,speaker’s demonstration,classroom lectures,post-class discussion,teaching research,analysis,summary,and further optimization in content and method of students’ career education course construction. |
