bibliographic data related to multidisciplinary treatment of cancer from the year 1971 through the year 2019 were collected from Science Citation Index-expanded(SCI-E)and Social Science Citation Index(SSCI)in Web of Science(WoS).Each document contains the title,author name,source journal,year,abstract,keywords,author address,references and citation frequencyMethods1.Literature analysisBy retrieving,investigating,reading and analyzing the literature related to cancer multidisciplinary team and scientometrics research,we explored new innovation points in this field.Further comprehensively and objectively comb the development status of cancer multidisciplinary team,and explore the evolution characteristics of interdisciplinary research in this field.2.ScientomericsScientomerics is a branch of science of science discipline which uses mathematical methods such as mathematical statistics and computing technology to analyze the input(such as scientific research personnel,research funds),output(such as the number of papers and the number of cited)and process(such as the formation of information dissemination and communication network),and finds out the regularity of scientific activities.This paper uses the scientomerics method to explore the status and development trend of multidisciplinary team of tumor at home and abroad.3.Social network analysisPajek,VOSviewer,Gephi and other software were used to calculate the centrality and network clustering of the nodes,and those software also used to visualize the networks in our paper.4.Citation analysisHistCite software was used to construct the citation network,CitnetExplore was used to realize network visualization and cluster analysis,and Pajek software was used to extract the main path of the citation network.5.Expert counseling methodResults1.The development trend of the field of multidisciplinary cancer teamChina:From 1983 to 2019,China's multi-disciplinary team research on cancer presents a steady growth trend.Through the analysis of cooperation network indicators and papers output,it is found that Beijing Cancer Hospital,Cancer Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences,Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center,Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute&Hospital,Chinese PLA General Hospital,Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center,Sichuan University West China Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University,not only have outstanding influence on themselves,but also play a leading role in the research and cooperation of multi-disciplinary treatment of cancer in China.Colorectal cancer,lung cancer and liver cancer are the most concerned tumors in the research of multi-disciplinary treatment of cancer.Precision medicine,big data,accelerated rehabilitation surgery,neoadjuvant treatment and immune therapy are the new hot topics in the field of multidisciplinary treatment for cancer in recent years.The world:From 1971 to 2019,the number of international cancer multi-disciplinary treatment research papers increased steadily,and since 2006,it has shown an exponentialgrowth trend.The number of papers published in the United States is far ahead of othercountries/regions,and the number of papers published in China's mainland has increased rapidly since 2010,but there is still a big gap from developed countries such as the United States,the United Kingdom and France.The University of Texas M.D.Anderson Cancer Center,Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center,Mayo Clinic,Massachusetts General Hospital and the Gustave Rousse Institute in France are among the most influential institutions in the field of multi-disciplinary treatment of cancer.The four kinds of tumors with the highest attention in international academic community are breast cancer,lung cancer,head and neck cancer and colorectal cancer.2.The status quo of research collaboration in multidisciplinary cancer treatment domainFrom 1971 to 2019,both the co-authorship rate and cooperation scale of international multidisciplinary oncology team domain are on the rise.The quility of the cross-border papers are higher than the domestic inter-institutions cooperation papers,higher than the papers pulished by the same institution,and higher than the independent papers.The global regional distribution of scientific research cooperation is extremely uneven.The institutional cooperation network forms eight clusters with geographical proximity.The cooperation networks of institutions and authors show obvious small world networks features.3.Development of multidisciplinary tumor treatment16 of the 20 highly cited papers in the field were published before 2007,and 5 of those had no direct relationship with the multidisciplinary treatment of cancer.It is found that the field of multidisciplinary cancer treatment can be divided into the early stage of application research,the middle stage of discussion on the structure,function and organizational realization of the multidisciplinary team,and the recent stage of discussion on the influencing factors of the quality of multidisciplinary team decision-making.The clinical application and effect evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment have always been the focus of this field.In the second and third stages,in-depth attention has been gradually paid to the organizational form of multidisciplinary team and the analysis of the influencing factors of decision-making effect.4.Analysis on the topics evolution of multidisciplinary cancer treatmentFrom 1971 to 2019,the number of keywords in multidisciplinary cancer treatment research increased,the topics of concern expanded,the proportion of inherited keywords increased,and the research contents and topics in the field were enriched and the stability increased.The topic evolution analysis shows that the diagnosis and treatment methods,palliative care and diagnosis methods have been paid continuous attention in the field of multidisciplinary treatment of cancer over the past 40 years.In the past decade,the topics related to precision medicine and oncology cardiology have attracted the attention of researchers.5.Interdisciplinary research in the field of multidisciplinary cancer treatmentThe phenomenon of interdisciplinary is becoming more and more obvious in the field of multidisciplinary cancer treatment.Both the scale of interdisciplinary network and interdisciplinary index are continue to increase in time series,and increasing disciplines are involved in this field.The degree of interdisciplinary research in multidisciplinary treatment of cancer in different countries/regions is generally on the rise,but there is no significant difference in the degree of interdisciplinary research among different countries/regions in the same period.The United States leads other countries/regions in different disciplines.The multidisciplinary research on cancer team in China's mainland is mainly limited to Oncology,Surgery,Internal Medicine,Gastroenterology,Hepatology and Respiratory system.Oncology,surgery,General Medicine,Nuclear Medicine&Medical Imaging have always been the mainstream direction in the field of multidisciplinary cancer treatment.Conclusion1.The multidisciplinary cancer treatment in China has developed rapidly,but there is still a big gap between China and developed countriesDatabase paper dispatch trend both at home and abroad have shown,in the domestic field of multidisciplinary tumor diagnosis and treatment after 2009 research papers are entered into a state of rapid development,but the country/region from the international database paper analysis found that the distribution of tumor multidisciplinary research starts late in our country,and both were identificated and citations influence,with the United States,Britain,France,Italy,Germany and other European and American developed countries there is a big gap.Institutions and cited analysis also found that the United States at the university of Texas m.d.Anderson cancer center,memorial sloan-kettering cancer center,Massachusetts general hospital and Dana farber cancer institute of technology has the global influence of institutions are from Europe and the United States developed countries,compared with these organizations,some strong first-class ternary hospitals in our country in the international multidisciplinary tumor diagnosis and research the influence of the academic circle is still low2.Scientific research cooperation has been paid more and more attention in the field of multidisciplinary oncology treatment,but the global distribution is unevenThe results showed that the rate of authors,institutions and international/regional cooperation and the number of authors,institutions and countries/regions in the field of multidisciplinary cancer treatment showed an increasing trend,among which the increase of institutional cooperation was particularly significant and gradually became the mainstream way of cooperation in this field.National/regional cooperation analysis found that research cooperation are mainly distributed in the United States,UK,France,Italy and Germany and other developed countries3.The effective configuration,organization and implementation of multidisciplinary oncology teams are still problems that need to be solvedThe results show that the research on multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of cancer has experienced three stages from the dimensions of content and time:early exploration;discussion on the structure,function and organizational realization of multidisciplinary team on cancer;and research on improving the quality of multidisciplinary team decision-making.The time priority of the multidisciplinary meeting,the adequacy of patients' diagnostic and pathological information,the number of cases to be discussed,the ability of teamwork and the characteristics of leadership are all influencing factors for the effective implementation of the multidisciplinary team decision.Despite the lack of sufficient evidence to prove that the multidisciplinary treatment can improve the prognosis of patients with tumor,but the clinical application and effect of multidisciplinary clinical evaluation has always been the focus topic in this field,the second stage and third stage gradually began to pay close attention to the organization form of a multidisciplinary team and the influence factors of the decision-making analysis4.The research contents in the field of clinical practice and evaluation,and there lacks the analysis of the emergence,development and evolution of the field.In this study,we systematically combined the scientometrics indicators,social network analysis method,subject strategy map,citation network main path analysis and interdisciplinary measurement to display the research status,cooperation,evolution and interdisciplinary situation in the field of multidisciplinary treatment of cancerConceptions for making further studyBased on the research papers related to multidisciplinary treatment of tumor,this study analyzed the current situation of research,cooperation,knowledge evolution and other aspects in this field,and lacks in-depth discussion on the discipline composition of multidisciplinary team members and the role of different discipline experts in the team.In the next step,we will use natural language processing to add topic labels to the authors,and further identify the authors' disciplines in combination with the suggestions of experts in the field,so as to explore whether the differences exist in the discipline composition of the same or different cancer multidisciplinary team members in different countries/regions.On this basis,combined with the interview method to determine the role of experts in different disciplines in the multidisciplinary team of oncology.We hope to reveal the general characteristics of the discipline composition of cancer multidisciplinary team,and provide reference for the organization and implementation of multidisciplinary team in China. |
