| Objective:Diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia.The main clinical manifestations are polydipsia,overeating,polyuria and emaciation,which seriously affect the life quality of patients.In particular,various complications caused by diabetes have become the main causes of blindness,disability and death of patients,which bring huge economic burden to the society.Therefore,it has always been a hot topic in medical research to seek a radical and effective method to prevent and treat diabetes.Some minority medicine like Tibetan medicine,Zhuang medicine and Hui medicine have long histories in the study of diabetes.With characteristics and advantages of simplicity,convenience,effectiveness and economy,each of them has unique understanding,magical diagnosis and treatment methods,as well as a large number of secret prescriptions.Actually,there are rich and incisive records of diabetes,as well as abundant experiences in the prevention and treatment of diabetes in the medical classics of the minority medicine,such as the Medical Classic of Four Sections in Tibetan medicine,the Science of Chinese Zhuang Medicine in Zhuang medicine and the Huihui Formula in Hui medicine.But these records are relatively scattered,lack of systematic summary and elaboration of etiology,pathogenesis and other theoretical knowledge.Besides,a large number of prescriptions have not been deeply excavated and sorted out,and part of the ancient literature have even been damaged or lost.While the existing research focuses on the clinical efficacy and treatment mechanism of some prescriptions of ethnic medicine,as well as the composition and pharmacology of ethnic hypoglycemic drugs.There is little research on the classic literature of diabetes in ethnic minorities,and there is no systematic arrangement and discussion on the theory of diabetes,commonly used prescriptions and therapeutic drugs,their characteristics and clinical application rules in the medical classics of minorities.Therefore,it is of great significance for the summary and improvement of diabetes theory and for clinical guidance in practice to systematically excavate and sort out the content of diabetes in medical classics of minority medicine like Tibetan medicine,Zhuang medicine and Hui medicine,summarize theoretical knowledge,refine ancestor's experience in prevention and treatment,collect and arrange the prescriptions and drugs recorded in them,establish databases of prescriptions and drugs for prevention and treatment of diabetes in medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine so as to finally form a system.This study can provide a lot of literature data for scholars to consult and further study to find inspiration from the classics,enrich and improve the understanding of diabetes in Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,provide guidance and reference for clinical practice and scientific research,and lay a foundation for further screening of effective prescriptions and developing of new drugs for diabetes.Methods:From the perspective of medical history and literature,this study uses literature research method,combined with content analysis,interview and field research.Taking diabetes as the breakthrough point,this paper starts with the records of diabetes in the classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,comprehensively collects and sorts out contents about diabetes,establishes databases of theories,prescriptions and drugs,summarizes the theoretical understanding and thinking of syndrome differentiation and treatment of diabetes in the classics,and explores the diagnosis and treatment techniques,commonly used prescriptions,prevention and treatment experience and its rules of diabetes in the classics,including fields like disease name,cause,pathogenesis,diagnosis,treatment methods,treatment principles,prescription and its application law,focusing on the collection and arrangement of the original text so as to study the understanding and prevention and treatment experience of diabetes in the minority medicine from the historical source.The specific methods are as follows:1.Consult traditional libraries like the National Library,the library of Minzu University of China,the library of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,the library of Tibet University of Tibetan Medicine,the library of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the reference room of Beijing Hui Min Hospital,consult electronic libraries like the SuperStar Digital Library,the Duxiu Academic Search,the Database of Chinese Classic Ancient Books,the Database of Chinese Digital Local Records,to fully collect and read the medical classics of Tibetan medicine,Zhuang medicine and Hui medicine to find records of diabetes,related prescription and drugs and establish databases for them.The types of literature mainly included in the research are ancient classics,modern monographs,treatises,comprehensive medical books,prescription books,monographs,Materia Medica,textbooks,medical cases,medical papers,medical talks and so on.In particular,it focuses on studying the ancient classic works of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,and studies the understanding and experience of diabetes from the historical source.2.Extract relevant records and systematically arrange and file them according to fields like disease name,cause,pathogenesis,syndrome differentiation,diagnosis,treatment principle,treatment method,therapy,application,prevention,and regulation.Use Microsoft Excel/Word2016 to establish three literature databases of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine about diabetes prevention and treatment.3.Systematically study the history and development of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,their respective systems of theory,treatment,prescription and drug.Intensively read the classic literature such as the Medical Classic of Four Sections,the Science of Chinese Zhuang Medicine and Huihui Formula,and get familiar with the three medical systems of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,so as to lay the foundation for further analysis and research.4.Based on the literature databases of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,induce,summarize,excavate and refine the theoretical understanding on the etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes,the thinking and characteristics of diagnosis and treatments of diabetes in the minority medicine.For classics like the Medical Classic of Four Sections,the Huihui Formula and the Principles of Correct Diet,try to make the research results faithful to the original meaning by repeated reading,comparison and analysis of different versions,comparison of journals and literature,expert consultation and other methods.5.Collect and arrange the prescriptions of diabetes prevention and treatment recorded in the classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,classify them according to fields like prescription name,source,composition,efficacy and indications,production and usage,dosage and so on,apply Microsoft Excel 2016 to establish databases of prescriptions of diabetes prevention and treatment of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine;apply Microsoft Excel 2016 to carry out statistical analysis and data mining on drug frequency,composition rules and medication characteristics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui prescriptions.6.Collect and arrange the drugs for diabetes prevention and treatment recorded in the classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,classify them according to fields like source,scientific name,Chinese translation,family name,genus name,diabetic medicinal parts,property and flavor,efficacy,indications,usage and dosage,and apply Microsoft Excel 2016 to establish databases of drugs for diabetes prevention and treatment of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine;apply Microsoft Excel 2016 to carry out statistical analysis and data mining on drugs for diabetes prevention and treatment of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,according to fields like family name,source,diabetic medicinal parts,property and flavor,efficacy,so as to summarize their rules and characteristics.7.Form clear understanding and diagnosis and treatment system of diabetes in medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine.Results:1.Nearly 200 kinds of literature in Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are collected and read,and 140 kinds of literature(30 of Tibetan medicine,77 of Zhuang medicine and 33 of Hui medicine)with diabetes content are included in the study.2.From aspects like diabetes name,etiology,pathogenesis,syndrome differentiation,diagnosis,diagnosis method,treatment principle,treatment method,therapy,application,prevention and regulation,the medical literature of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are systematically summarized,and clear understanding and diagnosis and treatment system of diabetes in medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are formed.3.The theoretical understanding of etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes,as well as thinking and characteristics of diagnosis and treatments of diabetes in the minority medicine are induced,summarized,excavated and refined.4.A total of 215 prescriptions(36 of Tibetan medicine,121 of Zhuang medicine and 58 of Hui medicine)for prevention and treatment of diabetes recorded in classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are collected;three prescription databases are established according to fields like prescription name,source,composition,efficacy and indications,production and usage,and dosage;the composition rules and medication characteristics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are statistically analyzed by Microsoft Excel 2016.5.A total of 123 drugs(22 Tibetan drugs,61 Zhuang drugs and 40 Hui drugs)with the effect of diabetes prevention and treatment are collected and sorted out from the medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine;three drug databases are established according to fields like source,scientific name,Chinese translation,family name,genus name,diabetic medicinal parts,property and flavor,efficacy,indications,usage and dosage.Microsoft Excel 2016 is used to analyze the rules and characteristics of diabetic drugs of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine in terms of family name,source,diabetic medicinal parts,property and flavor,and efficacy.Conclusion:Medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui Medicine are treasures of the motherland's medicine treasure house,recording the rich experience and effective prescriptions and drugs accumulated by the ancestors in the process of fighting against diabetes.There are incisive explanations on the etiology,pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of diabetes in them,and they have made important contributions to the health of the people in ethnic areas.However,the literature is vast,while the relevant records are scattered,and there is a lack of systematic summary and elaboration on the theoretical understanding of etiology and pathogenesis.Besides,a large number of prescriptions have not been deeply excavated and sorted out.There are few theoretical records but many prescriptions.Some ancient literature have been damaged or lost,and they have not been systematically excavated and sorted out in time.In this study,140 kinds of ancient literature about diabetes in Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are collected;relevant records are extracted to establish the literature databases of diabetes prevention and treatment of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine;the theoretical understanding on areas like etiology and pathogenesis,thinking and characteristics of diagnosis and treatment of diabetes in the medical classics of the three minority medicine are summarized and refined;215 diabetic prescriptions of the three minority medicine are collected;three prescription databases are established and the composition rules and medication characteristics of the prescriptions are statistically analyzed;123 kinds of drugs with the effect of diabetes prevention and treatment in the three minority medicine are collected;three drug databases are established and the rules and characteristics of drugs are statistically analyzed in terms of drug family,source,diabetic medicinal parts,property and flavor,and efficacy;clear understanding and diagnosis and treatment system of diabetes in medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine are formed.The results provide a large number of literature data for scholars to consult and further study.However,it is not easy to collect scattered diabetes records in the vast medical classics of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine because there are many minorities and vast literature involved.Based on the overall grasp and understanding of the three medical systems of Tibetan,Zhuang and Hui medicine,it takes lot of time and energy to carry on the study,from investigation,literature collection,to literature arrangement,textual research,data refining and statistical analysis.With limited ability,difficulties and mistakes are inevitable in the research process.Look forward to further research. |
