Zangbo drug" has long-term history, with implying unique pharmacological epistemology. The research reveals the important position and actual clinical significance in ancient Tibetan medical compound. It based on the unique viewpoint of Tibetan medical pharmacology; further attempt is made to learn the records and application of the "Zangbo drug", through in-depth comparing and analyzing the Key texts of Tibetan medicine "Four Tantra" (and others) and Indian ancient script "Eight Branch Essence ". It used textual research and modern pharmacy comparison methods, pointed out that the origin. nomenclature, classification. efficacy and the ideology behind the formation of such compounding. The research also demonstrates that the description of the efficacy of "Zangpo Drug" is compatible with the result of modern research; it deepened the rational elucidation and the significance of "Zangpo Drug" in the epistemology of Tibetan medical formula and clinical practice.The main points proposed in this study are:1. Through the comparative literature studies and the exploration from historical archaeological viewpoints, the specific time frame when the different historical developments (i.e. initial formation of Tibetan medicine, the absorption for the essence of other medical traditions. the systematization for medical theory and clinical practice) had been taken place is proposed.2. The study pointed out that the view of "seven obligatory elements" is not confined to the botanical areas, but refers to all kinds of Tibetan medicinal ingredients.3. Through comparative study, it demonstrated the five compounding method forms the compounding principle of Tibetan medicine.-"Khatshar" compounding principle aims to improve drug efficacy-"Khagyur" aims to regulate drugs symptomatic category-"Khazin" compounding principle to protect organs from the harm by side effects of drugs-"Manta" the compounding principle intents to mobilize the efficacy of the drug-"Zangbo drug" and "tshapa sum" and other compound to reflect that the compounding principles of Tibetan medicine not only have curative effect, but also to recover the overall health condition and prolonging life4. "Zangbo drug" is most commonly used Tibetan medical remedies in clinical practice. The study conducted through extensive literature reviews; it gathered over a hundred of medical compounds where "Zangbo drug" stand as the main ratios in order to analyze the theory and clinical effect of "Zangbo drug" used in different prescriptions.5. By referring to the "five naming principles" defined in Tibetan nomenclature culture, it pointed out that the "Zangbo drug" named according to five different naming principles based on in-depth analysis.6. Through the analysis of ancient Tibetan medical literature in terms of the place of origin for "Zangbo Drug", the study discussed that the place of origin where produce the best quality "Zangbo drug".9. Zangbo Drug" belongs to rare herbs in the Qinghai-Tibetan High Plateau with being most commonly used herbs in Tibetan medicinal compound, combined with high demand in clinical usage. In this study, through extensive literature reviews, it discovered the substitute medicine when there is problem in fulfill the clinical practice and medicinal production needs.10. The research also conducted in the aim to analyze and compare the effect of "Zangbo Drug" through using combined methods between modern and traditional medicine. It takes all the existing research into account that concerns that ingredients of "Zangbo drug" in terms of the modern pharmacological analysis and other forms of traditional medical clinical usage.
