In face of the spatial scale division and emotional alienation caused by the current super-large public space construction.This thesis explores the urban fabric suture and emotional experience repair starting from the small-micro public space(SMPS)and emotional design.As the basic component of public space system,SMPS are the most convenient and accessible place close to residents' daily life.Both the stock planning background and urban micro-renewal movement give SMPS development opportunity.With the development trend of focusing on "precision"(details)and "warmth"(places of humanity),it is of great significance to deeply analyze and construct the theory and method research system of SMPS based on emotional design.Based on the theoretical foundation of environmental psychology,architectural phenomenology,emotional design and Kansei Engineering,this thesis clearly defines the concept of urban small-micro public space from perspectives of scale,type and emotional relevance,and extracts its connotation to build an emotional design system.Through the empirical research on the visceral,behavioral and reflective emotional level of SMPS in samples of Tianjin with different scale,this thesis responds to the current situation of space network system,micro-renewal and daily public life construction,and summarizes the guidelines of control strategy directly.This paper includes three aspects:(1)The definition and depth analysis of connotation of SMPS.This thesis comes out the broad and narrow concepts of SMPS,scale and connotation.From typology perspective this research divides SMPS into five basic types: architectural attachment type,street derivative type,L enclosure type,U enclosure type,? enclosure type and two usage behavior pattern,which are ‘staying type' and ‘passing type'.(2)Theory and method research system construction of emotional design of SMPS.Draw lessons from emotional design and Kansei Engineering theory,this thesis constructs the research system of emotional design of urban small-micro public space.Form the emotional appeal meaning of visceral,behavioral and reflective in the context of SMPS design.From the perspective of carrier,presentation,portrait and quantitative methods,this paper expounds the emotional design theory and method basis of SMPS.(3)Empirical research on emotional design of SMPS at different scales areas.Scale of urban new area: Analyze the public space system at the visceral emotional level of Tianjin Binhai New Area,supplemented by behavioral observation and measurement of specific L and U enclosed types of SMPS.Historical block scale: Among the environmental elements of the street-derived SMPS: the transition space,floor space and front space of shops,architectural features,interface permeability and harmony environmental color are the key conditions that affect the occurrence of stay behavior type.Emoji Grid is used to complete the two-dimensional distribution of spatial emotion.Community scale: relying on PSPL survey method,interview and spatial behavior observed for basic data collection,through space types and use of behavior patterns than excavating reflective emotional level of informal activities for the active involvement of emotional sustenance.Based on the results of different empirical studies,specific guidelines for controlling strategies are put forward.This paper aims to return to the original topic of ‘people,space and emotion'.Based on the qualitative theory and quantitative means,it not only focuses on the objective analysis of data to connect the real life,but also explores the deep emotional depth of small-micro public space.
