From a historical point of view,more than one century has shaped the evolution and maturity of entrepreneurship as a field of practice and study.Along this evolutionary path,the philosophy of entrepreneurship has shifted from been an art to the science of entrepreneurial training.To this extent,academics,practitioners and governments worldwide have increasingly recognized the role of education and training in providing entrepreneurs with the necessary business skills and acumen to plan,set up and grow their business ideas.This is because according to the human capital to invest in knowledge,skills and the abilities to enhance the productive capacity,competencies to engage in a more enterprising,innovative and flexible manner in a changing workplace environment.There is growing acceptance that some elements of entrepreneurship as an important part of human capital can be taught and learned.However,there is yet to be established a single entrepreneurial training intervention model or group of models that accurately predicts the influence of entrepreneurial training interventions on the performance of firms.Thus,the purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of entrepreneurial training intervention on performance of small-scale automobile businesses in Ghana.This includes exploring the relationship between entrepreneurial training interventions and performance of small-scale automobile firms in Ghana.The study also evaluated the influence of entrepreneurial training interventions on the entrepreneurial orientation of SME owners’ in Ghana.In this study,entrepreneurial performance education model,social learning theory and entrepreneurial orientation theory are integrated into a model.From the perspective of entrepreneurs,intervention trainers and learners,entrepreneurial training intervention and the performance of small car enterprises in Ghana,as well as the interaction of environmental factors and personality or cognitive factors,which also affect the success of entrepreneurial training intervention.This study adopts the convenience sampling method because these managers and relevant personnel are busy with their work,and the strict sampling technology is not easy to be successfully implemented.Through the survey data collection of owners and managers of small-scale automobile enterprises in Kumasi,Ghana Ashanti region,896 sample size is selected;then,the researcher uses the structural equation model to evaluate the impact of entrepreneurship training on the basic performance of SMEs.The study findings reveal that: there is a significant relationship between entrepreneurial training interventions and performance of small-scale automobile firms in Ghana.It also revealed that;SMEs entrepreneurial orientation is significantly influenced by entrepreneurial training interventions of small-scale automobile firms in Ghana.The study also shows that SME owners’ absorptive capacity significantly moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance of small-scale automobile firms in Ghana.Finally,it also noted that internal and external factors moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance of small-scale automobile firms in Ghana.The enlightenment of the conclusion is the spectrum of challenges facing the small-scale automobile businesses in Ghana cannot be solved by an individual.First,this research has made us to understand that,an entrepreneur can acquire entrepreneurial training through formal or informal way.Therefore,it is recommended that,the Ghanaian government should collaborate with the Ministry of Education to include entrepreneurial courses or programs in the educational curriculum right from primary school level.The study also recommended various NGOs to come on board to offer refresher courses or in-service training for entrepreneurs.Again,it is recommended that,an independent body should be set up to monitor and supervise these programs or courses.Besides,the study recommended that,laws should be made to waive taxes.Furthermore,the study recommended financial institutions to aid entrepreneurs by giving them lower interest loans.Lastly,the study recommended the automobile businesses to form a union group to serve as their mouthpiece to channel their grievances to the government.
