Study On Golden Crown In The Liao Dynasty

Khitan ethnic group is a minority tribe active between the 10 th and 12 th century AD.It occupied an important position in the history of ancient Chinese ethnic group.It lived in the northern grassland in the early days by nomadic fishing and hunting.Since the establishment of the Liao Dynasty,it has been constantly mingled with the Chinese culture in the Central Plains,creating a broad,profound and unique grassland Khitan culture.The clothing of the Khitan people in Liao Dynasty is an important part of their ethnic culture.The golden crown is the most characteristic and indispensable part of the complete Khitan costume culture,and its unique temperament brought by its shape,structure and craft is totally different from that of other dynasties and ethnic groups.At the same time,as an important part of gold and silver in liao dynasty,it developed gold and silver to a new dimension.The paper took the golden crown worn by the Khitan aristocrat in the imperial court,banquet,sacrifice and funeral as the research object.Firstly,37 objects of the Khitan dynasty in the principle of overall generalization and detail were collected to comb and analyze in the paper through the research method with the combination of the literature with the object and the image,Combined with Liao Dynasty costume system,and a full study on the three parts of their cultural,social and constituent attributes was performed,Finally,innovate design practice based on in-depth research.In terms of attributes in the culture and society,the life style of Khitan people living by water and grass was totally studied,in order to understand the Khitan people's food,clothing,housing and transportation,handicraft development,crown and hat ceremony system,tradition of admiring gold,soul undead view of life and death and funeral ceremony,to recognize the origin,development and evolution of the golden crown in the Khitan people,all-round,multiangle analysis of the value and significance of the existence of the golden crown in the society of the Liao Dynasty.In the aspect of compositional attributes,we use typology research method to compare and demonstrate the historical documents,objects and images from the aspects of shape,material,structure,pattern and process,to sort out and summarize the relationship between the shape characteristics and structure,pattern and process of the crown.Finally,the paper selected the shape and system characteristics of the analysis conclusion,it also used the wool felt material unique to northern nomads as the media carrier,and applied the shape and system characteristics elements to the innovative design practice,so as to better achieve the combination and mutual promotion of theory and practice and further improve the research on the golden crown of the Liao Dynasty.This research has the significance of supplementing,copying,displaying and disseminating materials in the fields of history and sociology,Expanding to the field of applied science,enriching the aesthetic impact of the Liao Dynasty golden crown elements in design and application,It has important expansion significance for the application of traditional culture in modern design,The creative part enriches the design extension of ethnic identification in modern design and becomes the typed design thrust of the Chinese national cultural revival.
