| This study identifies underlying causes of inadequate reporting of program activities and accomplishments in an international development organization. The study indicates that knowledge of the program, knowledge of the reporting requirements, training on reporting, English language skills, and time allotted for reporting are all factors that influence the quality of the reporting. This study also demonstrates the value of using a combination of reporting templates, rubrics, and coaching to enhance reporting skills. Once introduced into the organization and utilized by the employees, the rubrics can be used as performance measurement tools. In addition, using approaches that adopted organizational learning and systems thinking, among others, enhanced teamwork and cooperation, thus increasing learning. By the end of the study, the participants had improved their reporting skills and engaged in two-way communication within the organization which further enhanced program reporting. |
