| This qualitative study explored the motivations, perceptions, and experiences of mindful leadership facilitators (MLFs). The focus of this study was to understand the ways in which MLFs learned to incorporate mindfulness into their lives and leadership roles. This study offered to augment the available literature on how mindfulness-related practices affect adult learning and organizational and leadership development; and uncovered new insights into designing, facilitating, and incorporating mindfulness into leadership development programs.;This study made three primary contributions to the literature of adult learning and leadership development: (a) to provide new insights into the motivations of the MLFs and how they incorporated mindfulness into their lives; (b) to offer perspectives into the kind of activities that the MLFs engaged in that helped them overcome the barriers in the process of incorporating mindfulness into their lives and leadership; and (c) to reveal the gap in research that has examined mindfulness as it related to the development of mindful leaders in organizations.;The findings shed light into the development of mindful leaders and offered recommendations to leaders who want to become Mindful Leadership Facilitators, coaches, adult educators who seek to incorporate mindfulness training into their facilitating, researching, and developing of mindful leadership programs. The process of incorporating mindfulness into one's life and leadership is complex and multifaceted, given the variety of supportive and barrier factors. |
