| Understanding the project management maturity level of a business is increasingly important to avoid failed projects and achieve potential for success. This study examined the Project Management Maturity Model Level 3 Singular Methodology Hexagon of Excellence of small to medium-sized businesses in the United States. Surveys collected from business owners or management who manage one or more people, project managers who manage others, and project managers or team leaders who do not manage others from small to medium-sized businesses revealed the significance of increasing awareness of improving project management maturity. The six process elements had strong correlations and statistical significance (p < .05), and when controlled by Education levels of Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral, the variables accounted for 62% of variances in Level 3 maturity. The study added to the body of knowledge for leaders and project management professionals of small to medium-sized businesses to guide the growth of their businesses by implementing or enhancing a project management singular methodology that could contribute to improved project success and organization performance of small to medium-sized businesses. |
