Abstract/Summary:
Today, communication has expanded and is easier than ever before. Over time, the methods and means used to communicate have expanded greatly, it is not surprising that the connection between the expansion of information communication technologies and economic development is currently receiving considerable attention by practitioners, policy makers, researchers and funding organizations; and, there is good reason for this attention. If increased deployment of information communication technologies leads to greater digital opportunities, including economic and human development. Mobile telephony has brought new possibilities to the continent. Across urban-rural and rich-poor divides, mobile phones connect individuals to individuals, information, markets, and services. While current research suggests that mobile phone coverage and adoption have had positive impacts on agricultural and labor market efficiency and welfare in certain countries, empirical evidence is still somewhat limited. Careful impact evaluations of mobile phone development projects are required to better understand its impacts upon economic and social outcomes, and mobile phone technology must work in partnership with other public good provision and investment. Gujarat emerges to be an Industrial hub with India's most Industrialized State. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) makes a sobering revelation. The sharp rise in connections has been driven by existing and new mobile operators who have aggressively marketed and sold two crore connections in the last two years. Since February 2010, two crore mobile connections were added by eleven mobile operators in Gujarat. Gujarat has now become the eighth circle in the country to cross the 5 crore mark. To demonstrate relation between mobile technology and economics a prototype model MET has been developed on Android Platform. The research shows, how, for the first time, GDP and their penetration with increases in telecom investment.
