| A study was conducted to determine the instructional usefulness and maintenance costs of inventoried capital equipment in vocational education programs in the Utah System of Higher Education and to recommend funding procedures for acquiring and/or replacing capital equipment in order to upgrade the equipment to more closely approximate the state-of-the-art level of technology.;Based on the findings, it was found that a large proportion of the capital equipment used in vocational education programs was useful for instructional purposes. However, it was also concluded that over two-thirds of the inventoried equipment was rated at less than state-of-the-art. Recommendations were made for the funding policies and/or procedures for the acquisition and maintenance of instructional capital equipment. |
