The effects of Six Sigma implementation on transformational leadership skills

This study examines the relationship between transformational and transactional leadership styles and subordinates extra effort on the job, perception of leader effectiveness and their job satisfaction. The population consist of the subordinates of managers in middle to lower levels of an Aerospace Manufacturing Company.{09}The sample came from 3 different locations who have expressed interest in participating. Data from 110 responses were used for data analysis. The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and was utilized to obtain the data for this study.; The results revealed that some aspects of transformational leadership showed the significant positive relationship on the outcome variables. Idealized Influenced explained the most of the variance for Subordinates' Job Satisfaction, Extra Effort on the Job and Perception of Leader Effectiveness. However, the Individual consideration provided the positive affect on the Subordinates' Job Satisfaction Model. In transactional Leadership style, the Contingent Reward showed the positive affect and Management-by-Exception (Active) and Management-by-Exception (Passive) showed the negative affect only the Subordinates' Job Satisfaction.; Recommendations for further research included the different stages of corporate development. The achievement ways in different stages across the same industry should be attractive. And the Data analysis should be in the same industry on both sides of subordinates and their supervisors. The additional work outcomes and demographic variables that are related with leadership behaviors should be extended investigation. The effects of Six Sigma Training could be conducted to determine the longitudinal investigations. The influence of leadership style changes over time, and if so, what are the nature of those changes.
