A Study On The Effectiveness Of Transformational Leadership Based On Followers' Behavior Patterns

The effects of transformational leadership on leadership effectiveness have been verified in many researches, but studies on the mediating mechanism between the two are still relatively lacking, especially studies that take followers as a mediator. This thesis collected153 leaders and followers to do the pairing surveys and used statistical methods-hierarchical regression analysis, correlation analysis, to check sample data and analyzed the relationship among transformational leadership behaviors, leadership effectiveness and followers. Then the thesis found that:(1) Transformational Leadership has a significant positive prediction effect on and leadership effectiveness;(2) transformational leadership has a significant positive prediction effect on rational follower behavior, loyal follower behavior, obedience follower behavior, while has no effect on challenge follower behavior;(3) rational follower behavior and obedience follower behavior has a significant positive prediction effect on leadership effectiveness while loyal follower behavior and obedience follower behavior have no effect on leadership effectiveness;(4) rational follower behavior and obedience follower behavior has an intermediary function between transformational leadership and leadership effectiveness. Therefore, high level managers are advised to cultivate the grassroots level managers’ transformational leadership style, and give more attention to his followers’ behavior patterns, thus improving their leadership effectiveness.First, transformational leadership can enhance staff performance and employee satisfaction to leaders. This conclusion not only gives an direction that how managers clearly improve employee performance and satisfaction to leaders, but also provides an important basis for decision-makers to make choices; Furthermore, the conclusion that followers’ behavior patterns play an intermediary role between Transformational Leadership and Leadership Effectiveness, guides Transformational Leadership to find ways to improve leadership effectiveness, so that transformational leadership work more targeted, able to improve leadership effectiveness through followers’ behavior patterns.
