Abstract/Summary:
This dissertation presents a class of control schemes for unconstrained and constrained motion control of mechanical systems in the presence of considerable uncertainty regarding the system model, payload, and environment. The performance obtainable with the adaptive controllers is illustrated through simulation studies and experimental investigations.
