The United States has long been known as the melting pot of cultures. As the population demographics depart from the White Caucasian majority, attention should be given to those minority ethnicities. Nursing is a vital component of the healthcare system. As the population demographics are shifting in southern New Jersey, Nursing programs should be addressing recruitment and retention activities for those students from various racial and ethnic minorities who desire to become nurses. Gloucester County College is a community college whose mission professes to serve the community. In preparation for the population shift, the College needs to be aligning resources that can accommodate future nurses of all ethnicities. |
