Abstract/Summary:
In the current digital era, the rapid advancements in digital multimedia processing and network communications crafted the need of secured systems for authentication, secured communication, access control and etc. Digital multimedia security has become a new research area involving applied statistics, cryptography, information hiding, & computer vision as some of the techniques. The demand for a framework that expedient the way of investigating the spatial redundancy existing in the digital multimedia that facilitate in the development of novel adaptive and robust digital multimedia security systems has increased enormously.;In this dissertation, novel digital multimedia security systems based on robust encryption and/or adaptive data hiding frameworks have been designed. The key features of the proposed system and techniques can be summarized as: (1) Universal - applicable to various types of multimedia (such as speech, audio, image etc.). (2) Adaptive - it incorporates localized and inherent image features to design encryption and data hiding based secured systems. (3) Lossless - the embedded information could be retrieved lossless from stego media without prior knowledge of original media. (4) Immune - the first order statistics of the original media are preserved even after hiding significant amount of the sensitive data. (5) Capability -- it selects the best cover content from a class of digital multimedia content for transmitting given sensitive data.
