| This dissertation explores the hidden meanings behind a traumatic memory and how these memories are coded and decoded. Because of the similarities between the concepts of noise in communication and the experience of a memory block in trauma survivors, the idea of glitch is appropriated to explain that the loss of memory is a glitch. I use this concept and apply it to the creation of my glitch art; these pieces represent both the glitch (coding of trauma) and the healing digital paintings depict the decoding of the glitch/traumatic narrative. |
