Abstract/Summary:
Several methods exist to assess the effects of stimulant medication on behaviors related to Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD Pelham, Fabiano, & Massetti, 2005), yet relatively few measures have been examined with regard to their psychometric properties in the context of on-going treatment (Pelham & Smith, 1999). Inter-rater reliability, concurrent validity, and treatment sensitivity were evaluated for the parent, teacher, and counselor versions of the Improvement Rating Form (IRF), a brief measure of functioning, within the context of treatment. Inter-rater reliabilities for teacher and counselor ratings were moderate to fair, respectively. Small to moderate correlations were found between the teacher and counselor versions of the IRF and other measures used to assess treatment response. Treatment sensitivity varied depending on rater and treatment condition.
