Abstract/Summary:
This dissertation reviews the literature on family resilience components among Chinese immigrant caregivers of severe mentally ill patients. The first focus of the literature review was to identify their common burdens of care. The second focus was to summarize indigenous Chinese beliefs and values that cultivate family resilience. Applicability of the family resilience perspective for these caregivers is reviewed. Limitations of the studies are included, as well as directions for future research.
