In the process of urbanization,land use change driven by social and economic activities leads to the disorder of energy exchanges,substance circulation and information transfer in urban system.The heterogeneous flows in cities is called urban metabolism.Taking urban metabolism as a lens through which land use structure and distribution can be studied to understand and adjust the process of resource utilization,substance and energy transformation and waste emission.It is an efficient way to promote the sustainable development of cities.Therefore,this research focused on the optimization of land use,took the theory and method of urban metabolism as a guide to analysis the dynamic flows of substance and energy,and explored a land use optimization method from the perspective of urban metabolism.The research contents of this thesis were summarized as follows:Firstly,a systematic study of research literature on urban metabolism has been made to summarize the theory intension,research perspective,measurement methods and assessment criteria of urban metabolism,which is the basis for the method of land use optimization in this study.Secondly,to identify the internal metabolic components of urban system from the perspective of land use,the concept of “Land Metabolic Unit(LMU)” was proposed to present the metabolic unit of the inner environment of cities.Based on the discussion of physical space entities of urban metabolism and the standard for classification of land types,the connotation of LMU was analyzed and the two-level classification system of LMU was proposed to support the land use optimization method.Meanwhile,the metabolic process and driving mechanism of different type of LMU were analyzed to provide the basis for land use optimization.Thirdly,on the basis of the metabolic mechanism of LMU,the location choosing rule of LMU and the rule of urban development for choosing LMU were studied to analysis the fundamental of land use optimization.And then the principle and target of land use optimization were proposed according to the features of cities and LMU.Fourthly,based on the fundamental,principle and target of land use optimization,the system dynamics model,multi-objective planning and intelligence algorithm were improved and integrated to build a Spatio-Temporal Dynamic Optimization model(STDO model),establishing a dynamic land use optimization method from the perspective of urban metabolism.Lastly,Jinan city and Huaiyin district were taken as examples respectively to practice the land use optimization method,which verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the above method and got new suggestions for land use and urban development.This research verified the positive role of land use optimization in the construction of low-carbon and resource-efficient cities.The results show that LMU and its metabolic mechanism provide new perspective and basis for land use optimization,and the land use optimization method,including the fundamental,principle,targets and model,is effective and feasible.The introduction of LMU and its metabolic mechanism analysis provides a new perspective and connotation for land use optimization,and enrich the research content of land use.The STDO model enriches the method system of land use optimization and provides technical support for the discussion of complex land problems.
