With the rapid development of the fifth generation of wireless communication and high-precision positioning systems, microwave millimeter wave communication puts forward more stringent requirements for high-speed transmission between various systems. On the one hand, the spectrum resources in the lower frequency bands are approaching saturation and congestion, the mutual interference problem has become more and more serious. On the other hand, the millimeter wave spectrum has the advantages of wide bandwidth, good security and confidentiality, and high transmission quality,it is necessary to extend the working frequency of the antenna to the microwave and millimeter wave band. The substrate integrated waveguide has the characteristics of low radiation loss, high gain, high quality factor, easy processing, and easy integration, has become one of the main technical methods for application in the millimeter wave band. This thesis is based on the substrate integrated waveguide, the circularly polarized substrate integrated waveguide array antenna based on a quad-ridged waveguide, the substrate integrated wave high-order mode dual frequency array antenna, and the substrate integrated waveguide high-order mode dual polarization antenna are designed and studied. The main work of the paper is as follows:1.The substrate integrated with the four-ridge waveguide polarizer will become the circular polarization antenna. The high-gain 4×4 substrate integrated waveguide Ka-band circularly polarized antenna array loaded with a four-ridged waveguide polarizer was proposed for the first time.To the author's knowledge,a four-ridged ridge waveguide was first proposed as a polarization converter to achieve circularly polarized radiation. The polarizer adopts two orthogonal electric field modes to convert linearly polarized radiation into circularly polarized radiation.Compared with other circular or square waveguide polarizers, the four-ridged waveguide has the smallest electrical size structure;besides, compared with other circularly polarized antennas,by calculating the aperture of the antenna without edge effects and edge effects, the realized gain and the aperture efficiency are significantly improved.2.Based on the substrate integrated waveguide K-band dual-band back cavity antenna research. This antenna adopts high-order degenerate modes TM130 mode,TM310 mode,TM230 mode, and TM320 mode in the substrate integrated waveguide resonator for the first time, and combines the two degenerate modes into a new high-order mixed mode in the resonator, namely theTM_c~1(130,310)mode,TM_c~2(130,310)mode,TM_c~1(230,320)mode andTM_c~2(230,320)mode,and then apply these high-order mixed modes to the radiation mode in the back cavity antenna,so that the antenna can not only produce dual-frequency radiation effect, but also can increase the effective aperture radiation. This chapter uses the high-order hybrid merged mode in the substrate integrated waveguide cavity backed antenna for the first time, making the back cavity antenna, the cavity backed antenna reduces the dependence on low-order resonance modes such as TE110 mode and TE120 mode, effectively expands the analysis of the higher-order modes in the substrate integrated waveguide resonator, and makes the mode theory more perfect.3.The X-band dual-polarized back-cavity antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide. The antenna uses two high-order TM430 and TM340 modes, and realized dual-polarized radiation in the substrate integrated waveguide antenna for the first time. This work has the following advantages:First,it overcomes the design challenges caused by multi-polarization in the high-order mode.Secondly, the antenna proposes an effective method for analyzing higher-order modes, especially for TM430 and TM340modes,which can be used as a design guide for the generation of higher-order modes.Third, the relationship between dual higher-order modes(TM430 and TM340 modes)and dual polarization can be well understood by formulating models, which can be extended to other frequency bands.Fourthly,a new type of feed network structure is proposed, not only can get good matching, but also can generate phase difference at each output port of the power divider to realize the circularly polarized radiation.
