Research On The Cultivation Of University Students' Rule Of Law Awareness

Rule of law awareness is a basic ideological and political quality and also an important part of the comprehensive qualities of university students.It is not only closely related to the ideological and moral quality of university students,but also is the practical need for university students to engage in study and life as well as step into society.University students' rule of law awareness is a representative and epitome of that of all people.The cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness,which can accumulate experience and lay a foundation for improving all people's rule of law awareness,is not only a critical issue of cultivating a new generation with both moral and legal awareness as well as all-round development,but also a time subject of ideological and political work in universities and an important practical issue related to the construction of comprehensively law-based governance.It means that the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness is a theoretical discussion with strong practicality.Therefore,this paper firmly grasps the practicality of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.Instead of being lost in numerous survey and analysis datum,it enhances theoretical thinking and eventually returns to the path of theoretical construction.This paper consists of an introduction and five chapters.In the Introduction,this paper analyzes the current lack of researches on the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.At present,researches on this topic is still at the level of the education of rule of law knowledge while the discussions on more important levels of thinking are still very weak.Efforts should be done at the level of thinking and awareness if aiming to really improve university students' rule of law awareness.In addition,there is no focus in current researches of the cultivation of rule of law awareness,resulting in an insufficiency of researches aiming at university students.Moreover,the cultivation of rule of law awareness is characterized by a combination of theoretical and practical nature,but most of the current researches only involve one aspect,which makes a further discussion impossible.Therefore,with a combination of theory and practice as well as an application of a multidisciplinary knowledge background,this paper adopts the method combining documents,cases,surveys and empirical evidences,striving to make the research authentic,the theory thorough and the measure effective.Chapter 1,which belongs to a theoretical research,is about the connotation of university students' rule of law awareness and the characteristics as well as the functions of the cultivation.Correct theoretical guidance is necessary for effectively carrying out any surveys and practices.This chapter aims to clarify the concept of university students' rule of law awareness,then to carry out further surveys and researches on this basis.This chapter divides the concept of university students' rule of law into three parts: element,structure and attribute.In order to clarify the connotation and denotation of the concept of university students' rule of law awareness in this study,focus should be put on distinguishing the relationship between the rule of law awareness and its approximate concepts.On this basis,the elements in the concept of rule of law awareness are further refined,then the main characteristics of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness are further elaborated.At the same time,from the perspectives of both individuals and society,the function of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness in safeguarding legitimate rights and interests,promoting moral and legal cultivation,ensuring comprehensive development,and promoting the construction of rule of law will be explored.Connotation and denotation of a concept are the theoretical categories,and the characteristics as well as the functions of the cultivation constitute a bridge from theory to practice.Chapter 2 analyzes the current status of university students' rule of law awareness and the status quo of the cultivation of their rule of law awareness.Based on the accurate grasp of the concept,this chapter takes the various elements which define the concept as the dimension,and analyzes the status quo of university students' rule of law awareness.First of all this chapter explains the research approach and process,so that we can have a better grasp of the source and reliability of the survey data.On the basis of the six-consecutive-year survey data of Chinese University Students' Ideological and Political Education Development Report(2014-2019)and the special survey data on rule of law awareness of students from 25 domestic universities,this chapter analyzes through statistical and sociological approaches,trying to present an authentic situation of university students' rule of law awareness.Next,the research was transferred from the overall data survey of university students' rule of law awareness to case studies.This chapter selects 61 cases that are closely associated with the cultivation of rule of law awareness from universities in various provinces(districts and cities),demonstrating the beneficial exploration of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.Through inductive analysis of these cases,a lot of experiences and enlightenment can be obtained.Chapter 3 is an analysis of the problems and influencing factors of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.This chapter turns from the phenomenon summary in the previous chapter to the analysis of the problems existing in the current cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness based on the survey data.Besides,this chapter chooses 10 typical cases of university students' crimes in recent years.Through these negative cases,the pivotal difficulties needed to be overcome of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness can be found: an education collaborated with morality and law and a supply and demand matching.Then this chapter further analyzes and summarizes the various factors that affect the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.On this basis,a structural equation model for the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness is constructed,interpreted and analyzed.Based on the problems,this chapter grasps the key factors and bottlenecks in the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness,and visualizes the relationship between the factors and influences of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness through the model.Chapter 4 studies the idea,working objectives and system of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness in the new era.Firstly,this chapter explains the idea of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness from five aspects: "integration,guidance,innovation,coordination,linkage",and guides specific cultivation measures with the idea.Afterwards,five main objectives of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness are put forwarded to clarify the striving direction of the cultivation of rule of law awareness.On this basis,this chapter summarizes the main content of the system of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.The seven sub-systems mentioned not only constitute an organic part of the system,but also lay a foundation for the mechanism construction and approaches expansion next step.Chapter 5 is about constructing the mechanism and approaches of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.This chapter returns to the approach of theoretical thinking and promotes the author's thinking on the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness elucidated in this paper to a long-term mechanism.In this chapter,the author takes the three unified principles as the starting point and embodies the mechanism of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness into five aspects.Important approaches of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness are discussed from several aspects,law-class teaching,social practice of the rule of law,online rule of law education,rule of law culture in campus,rule of law work force,joint rule of law education,etc.These approaches are the further materialization of the mechanism of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness.The objective of this chapter is to make the measures of the cultivation of university students' rule of law awareness richer and more specific on the basis of the cultivation framework put forwarded in the previous chapter.
