Spatial cognition based on maps is an important research field in theoretical cartography.The reading and use of maps is the necessary geographical literacy of qualified citizens in the world.Geographical process knowledge is the dynamic process and law of geographical things and phenomena appearing with the passage of time which is an important content of geography teaching in high school.At the same time,because of its characteristics of dynamic,continuous,unity and so on,it has also become the difficulty of geography teaching in high school.As a tool for geospatial cognition,maps have played an important role in the process of geography teaching and students' cognitive development.However,in the practice teaching of geographical process knowledge,there are the following problems:Not combing the scattered geographical process knowledge out of a clear context and knowledge system.The lack of knowledge of cartography science guidance in the process of geography teaching which has influenced the presentation and teaching effect of map geography process knowledge teaching in high school to a certain extent.Therefore,explore the content of geographical process knowledge in high school geography curriculum and collate and summarize the key points of knowledge of various geographical processes to summarize the basic application strategy of map based spatial cognition of geography process teaching in high school.This is a research work which has a certain significance for the teaching of geographical process knowledge and the application of map.The article is based on the literature review of the research content.We should sort out and analyze the geographical process from the perspective of discipline,that is,the understanding of geographical process,including the analysis of the connotation,composition and core content of "geographical process" in geography and the basic contents and categories of geographical process knowledge in high school geography course.On this basis,the cognitive points of various categories of geographical processes are summed up.The paper are also designed for a questionnaire of teacher's identity to survey the recognition degree and suggestion of geography teachers' cognition points of geographical process in high school in order to further improve the cognitive points,Then the cognitive points of the "geographical process" are modified and perfected according to the results of the questionnaire.Finally,the map based spatial cognition theory is applied to the teaching of geography process in high school.The spatial cognition process of map and the application strategy of spatial cognition theory based on map in the teaching of geographical process are summarized.From the perspectives of the importance of map based spatial cognition in geography teaching and the existing problems in geography process knowledge teaching and so on,the introduction describes the research background of spatial cognition of "geographical process" based on map.It clarifies the theoretical and practical value of this study for geographical process and map teaching.It puts forward four basic research questions and corresponding research objectives,and illustrates the research process and method.The first part of the text starts with the understanding of "geographical process",and analyzes the connotation,composition and core content of "geographical process" in geography from the perspective of geography,and sort out the contents and types of "geographical process" in high school geography course from the perspective of Geography Teaching.The teaching value of "geographical process" is analyzed.The article holds that the study of geographical process in geography is a guide and reference for the teaching of geographical process knowledge.The analysis of the basic contents and categories of geographical process knowledge can be used as a logical starting point for the study of spatial cognition of "geographical process" based on maps.On the basis of the understanding of the "geographical process",the article summarizes the cognitive points of different categories of geographical processes.The basic framework of this cognitive point is as follows: First,we should start with the basic categories of geographical processes which means that we should consider the basic contents of "geographical cycle process","geographic succession process","geographic fluctuation process" and "geographic diffusion process" to grasp three aspects for "Driving force","landmark process characteristics","process effect" under the framework of "basic categories" and generalize the key points of knowledge of various geographic processes.In order to verify and correct the cognitive points of geographical process,this paper includes a questionnaire designed for high school geography teachers' identification to investigate the degree and suggestion of high school geography teachers' recognition of "geographical process".According to the arrangement and analysis of the results of the questionnaire,we further revised and improved the cognitive points of "geographical process".In this paper,the essential point of cognition of the perfect "geographical process" is the basic operation point.The spatial cognitive process of high school students based on maps is a framework.The basic strategy of using map based spatial cognition theory in the teaching of geographical process is put forward.The proposed strategies are designed for the relevant cases and are elaborated.The conclusion part summarizes understanding of this article in the "geographical process",the cognitive points of "geographical process",the spatial cognitive process of high school students based on maps and the research conclusions of the application of map based spatial cognition theory in the teaching of geographical process.At the same time,the future research direction of this study is prospected,and the shortcomings of the research are pointed out.
