Study On The Cross-city Commuter In The Social Change Of City Integration

Cross-city commuters is an emerging group;arose under the background of globalization,networking and urban regional integration.Their living conditions,life?style and social adaptation reflect deep level problem and contradiction in the process of social change,and became an important factor in research of social changes in contemporary China.From all over the world,cross-city commuters is a common group and social phenomenon in the process of urbanization.But different political and social systems,economic development levels,cultural traditions decided fundamental differences in special distribution,group characters,life styles etc.of cross-city commuters between China and the West.Research on cross-city commuter,which became an emerging and developing subculture group not only in favour of extension of research on cross-city in city sociology,but also played a part in social management and urbanization.This paper divided into four parts,ten chapters:Part ? is given to fundamental analytic research on city-cross commuters.Chapter I explained cause,main problems and theoretical,social,practical significances of this research.Chapter ? concluded theories and studies of social space,social behavior,social culture and regional integration on the basis of collection Chinese and English literature.Chapter ? defined research area on the basis of classifying analysis on city-cross commuters,and specific methods and research framework.Part ? made a research on the reasons and motives of formation of cross-city commuters.Chapter IV concluded periodical characteristics of appearance of contemporary Chinese city integration and cross-city commuters,pointed out that globalization,networking,urbanization and regional integration is basic conditions of the appearance of cross-city commuters,besides,union of the growth of cities' space,which dominated by government,played an important part in the appearance of cross-city commuters.Chapter V focused on the motive of individual choice,explained micro logic of the choice cross-city life,in addition to choice and exchange of many factors in the economic rationality's view,reference group plays an important role in the choice of cross-city life.Part ? focused on social change of cross-city commuters,included change of cross-city commuters' life style,social space and social culture.Chapter VI described many cases of cross-city commuters' life,and induced exchanges,conflicts and crisis to individual and family which brought by cross-city life.From the perspective of social space changes,chapter ? analyzed intrusion and be invaded relationship between big and small-medium cities,included replaces of space,population,industry and culture caused by the above reason,and broken spaces,social isolation,social exclusion and injustice brought by the progress of invade and be invaded.From the perspective of social culture,chapter ? described group characteristics and outline of cross-city commuters by detailed analyses of the data,did studies on interactive relationship between Internal and external environment of the community,reflected social identity and exclusion,appeared during the process of social integration of cross-city commuters in residence,and explained compensatory mechanism of geopolitical relations,arisen in in the special space away from the big cities of cross-city commuters.Part IV made a study on Social function and future development of cross-city commuters.Chapter ? analyzed positive and negative effects,brought by the formation of cross-city commuters and social changes of the edge of cities from the perspective of structural functionalism.Besides,this chapter discussed tentatively about social problems and social management of cross-city commuters.Chapter X summarized main conclusions about cross-city commuters,reflected and prospected follow-up studies.Research on emerging social group "cross-city commuters" has only just begun,the cross-city commuters are under development.In the foreseeable future,more and more people will give up living in a single city,become a member of cross-city commuters'.In the process of social changes,not only city managers have responsibility to solve the problems of social isolation,social identity,social exclusion,social crisis,social justice,but also do studies on cross-city commuters from a sociological perspective,with humanistic care and sociological imagination.
