More than 100 years ago,in Shanghai,the United States concession Zhapu road set up a new type of school-Shanghai Picture Art Institute.This is the first professional art school in China,the famous Shanghai College of Fine Arts in the future.Over the years,the academic monographs and papers that have been studied in this school have been lot,but there is no strict sense of the literature,and there is no rigorous study on the integrity of the school's distinctive and fruitful Western painting teaching.In recent years,with some valuable literature,especially the loss of information in the private is constantly found,collected,collated,the relevant research has been a certain possibility.The article "Study on the teaching of Western painting in Shanghai College of Fine Arts" is written under such conditions.The conclusions of any academic study must be based on informative and adequate data.Due to the characteristics of the dynamic literature,as well as the absence of holistic research in related fields,the achievements and historical status of Shanghai Messi in western painting teaching have been recognized to a relatively high degree,but the systematic research based on the latest literature still has its necessity.In the course of professional theory learning over the past a few years,the outline of a core problem that points to the research direction is gradually clear,i.e.how do the "high quantity of the successful cultivation" and "creativity" of Shanghai Messi Western painting teaching come into being? Seeking the answer of this question requires to start with the analysis of the quantity and quality of personnel training,academic research and achievements in artistic creation,so as to deeply analyze the inner logic of this high "output value".The orthodoxy part of this paper can be summed up as the structure of "one longitudinal,three horizontal and then closing".The first chapter has carried on the longitudinal,the academic history combing to the Western painting teaching of Shanghai Messi.According to the development characteristics of different stages in the history of Messi in 40,combined with several events which have a significant impact on teaching,the teaching history of Western painting is divided into three periods of "exploration period","gestation period" and "maturity".The main part of the article is the second and 33 or 43 chapters,respectively,on the teaching of the most critical curriculum,teacher team building,academic research three juxtaposition of the plate,combined with the first chapter of the historical division,based on a large number of important historical documents,Messi in these key teaching links of the practice of in-depth excavation,and analysis of the gains and losses of its initiatives and the impact on the entire teaching system.The key fifth chapter,after the narration and analysis of the first four chapters,"one longitudinal and three horizontal",refines and summarizes the core problem points of this paper.It is unrealistic to carry out a complete data collation of a school with a history of 40 years of schooling and a huge impact on schools,not to mention the serious loss of literature.Therefore,this article adopts the method to combine the coverage and typical cases to summarize the school's teaching achievements on two levels of "personnel training" and "results output".As to the internal reason why the school got these achievements,it is the difficulty and main point of the article research,after the previous text on the curriculum,teacher construction,academic research and other important links of combing,a hidden in the process of running a school,reflecting the characteristics of Shanghai Messi Western Painting Teaching features of the logical chain has been looming.That is to "tolerance","openness",and "creativity" as its main characteristics of the "Shanghai School" style brought about by the diversified subject teaching environment,to a certain extent can even be considered to be the scholars through the "internal circulation" and "external circulation" deliberately created a variety of academic views,a variety of artistic style of collision and confrontation,activating the school speculation,innovative air and soil,and thus provide a steady stream of development thrust for Western painting teaching.At the end of this chapter,we also reflect on the Western painting teaching and its extension.The research methods in this paper are mainly literature research method and formal analysis method.These two research methods have larger and higher demand for text and image data in quantity and quality.Thanks to the decades of accumulation of mentors and the academic resources that have been developed by the teaching team in this field for a long time,I have been able to obtain the newly discovered information in the literature in a timely manner,so that the research of the subject has been supported by sufficient historical materials.The collection and use of literature is the main innovation point of this paper,in many years of art education work,the author has been fortunate to meet the Shanghai Messi graduates Professor Zhu Yu,although Professor Zhu has been more than nine years old,but has a memory.His oral history for this article not only provides some key information,but also inspires the thinking of the problem point to a certain extent.At the end of the article,the conclusion of the core problem point,that is,the idea of the tolerance and opening of Shanghai School,activates the innovative academic atmosphere,and finally forms the thrust on the development of the discipline,which is the result of the natural formation under the premise of a great deal of research and inference done in the preceding article.
