The German art history in 19 th century has a particularly important position in the development of overall art history.Art history as an emerging discipline was keen on many historians at the time,and research methods in various disciplines also provided a path for art history.“Jacob Burckhart and Der Cicerone” is a very interesting “case”.The Introduction leading the whole article,and makes a basic literature review for the study,pointing out the problem that the article wants to solve.The first chapter “The Birth of Der Cicerone”is the starting point of the full-text research,which is a relatively intuitionstic record for the writing process.The second chapter is the basis of the argument,the influence of the art historians on Jacob Burckhardt,which will mainly discuss Franz Kugler and Karl Schnaase and their friendship between Jacob Burckhardt.Handbuch der Kunstgeschichte is revised by Kugler and Burckhart,this book has a direct and important influence on the writing of Der Cicerone.The third chapter is one of the main subjects of the discussion,which is to examine the purpose and achievements of Burckhart's Italy trips,and the relationship between Der Cicerone and the mid-19 th century travel writing,to judge the background and the nature of the book.The fourth chapter is about the purpose of the book,through the analysis of the word “Genuss” in the subtitle of the book,and the meaning of the word “Existenzbild” he created,trying to understand the real thoughts of Burckhart and His attitude towards the Venetian paintings of the 16 th century.The fifth chapter focuses on Burckhart's elaboration of the “Renaissance Art” and his art history research methods to understand the early Renaissance concept of Burckhardt and its influence on The Culture of the Italian Renaissance and The Architecture of Italian Renaissance.The sixth chapter extends the field of vision to the study of German art history throughout the 19 th and 20 th centuries,summarizing Burckhardt's position in art history,and through Heinrich W?lfflin,Wihelm von Bode,Aby Warburg's perspective,to understand the assist and effect of Burckhart in the field of German art history.
